State lodges are prestigious venues used by the Presidents of Kenya for official and personal events.

They are located in beautiful and secluded areas and boast modern security features and luxurious amenities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, and golf courses. The lodges are situated in various locations throughout the country including Eldoret, Kisumu, Kakamega, and Kisii, with Sagana being the most frequently utilized. Originally a royal residence for the British monarchy, Sagana was gifted to Queen Elizabeth following her marriage to Prince Philip. However, after Kenya gained independence in 1963, the Queen returned the lodge to the Kenyan government.

Over the years, Sagana has been visited by Kenya’s three most recent Presidents. During an interview at Sagana on Sunday, August 6, President William Ruto said he will not allow violent protests to occur in Kenya as he believes this is necessary to protect the country. Despite facing criticism for this decision, Ruto remains steadfast in his commitment to maintaining peace and stability in Kenya. The Head of State said the safety of Kenyans is of utmost importance to him and he will go to great lengths to protect Kenyans

“I looked at myself and said apart from being the leader of the government, I’m the Head of State and my work is to protect Kenyans and their properties. Between me and those who are trying to divide Kenyans by these protests, who are really taking Kenya backwards?” Ruto posed.

Ruto disputed the Opposition-led protests that took place last month, saying that they were detrimental to Kenya’s image. The President also emphasized that the security of Kenya is non-negotiable. He further declared that he will not allow Kenya to be destroyed by protests during his tenure.

    Tarehe 07, Agosti 1998:
