18 Dorper Sheep Stolen from Kenyatta Family’s Northlands Farm Secretly Returned

Some of the sheep that were stolen when goons raided the Kenyatta family’s Northlands farm in Ruiru, Kiambu County on March 27th have been returned, according to reports.

Nation reports that five of the sheep were on Wednesday night found abandoned at Dandora police station, with security managers at the farm positively identifying them through their special marks. This brought the tally of the Dorper sheep that have been returned to the farm since the incident to 18.

Some people believed to be aides of two Nairobi politicians have reportedly been dropping the animals near the farm in cars, Nation reported.

“So far we are optimistic with the process since we have recovered 18,” said Patrick Masinde, the farm’s security manager.

Masinde noted that the recovered sheep are emaciated due to poor husbandry “since these are not traditional breeds that feed anyhow.”

“We urge all holding our stock to return them peacefully,” he added.

The expansive farm owned by the family of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta was invaded by a gang of over 100 goons armed with power saws, machetes, and axes.

The raiders overpowered private guards at the ranch and went on to cut down trees, steal sheep and demarcate the land to allocate themselves plots, with some even building temporary structures. The raiders also torched part of the farm.

Area police did not respond to calls from the security managers and only showed up 24 hours later to assess the damage.

The raid followed public utterances by some Kenya Kwanza politicians, who threatened to invade Kenyatta properties over claims that the former president was sponsoring anti-government protests organized by the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition.

On Monday, elders from the Kikuyu Council of Elders’ cultural pillar Kiama Kia Ma threatened to put a curse on all who disrespect the Kenyatta family.
