Police in Kirinyaga County are searching for a man who is suspected to have killed his elder brother in a fight over an incestuous love affair with their sister.
The suspect identified as Benard Njere, 31, is said to have descended on his brother Samuel Irungu, 37, after finding him “in a compromising situation” with their 17-year-old sister, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
“The deceased who also had a clandestine love affair with the 17-year-old and couldn’t come to terms with what he had witnessed descended on his brother with fury, prompting a fierce fight that led to his demise,” DCI said.
Their father, who reported the matter to police, said his eldest son was hit using a blunt object on the head, face and the back. He died while undergoing treatment at Karatina Sub-County Hospital, DCI added.
“Detectives who immediately visited the homestead discovered that the deceased had sometime last year impregnated the step sister, who experienced a stillbirth in March this year,” DCI said.
The murder suspect, who escaped from the murder scene, is still at large and efforts are being made to arrest and charge him.

Folks, there is no better example of a community with rotten morals than this case here.Last week in a Kakamega hospital,aman defiles his own daughter on the hospital bed.Apparently he had presented himself as a loving concerned ,father who wanted to keep watch on his sick daughter,so they let him sleep in the room… on the floor.
These two cases are not isolated we read,or at least I have read numerous such family defilement cases with varying degree of violation. Abhorrent acts like this have become so common in our society that some of us are afraid that they will be “normalized”. There has to be reason why they are on the increase.Granted we could blame some of them on mental health issues,I believe that their is a bigger”force” at hand.A “force” that is unraveling our social fiber.If we are unwilling to confront this “force”, then we are complicit. This “force” gets its energy from,corruption, immorality,lawlessness,low spirituality, indiscipline, indulgence,drunkard men and women…etc.As you can see, this force of destruction is our own creation.And its upon us to destroy it.
