Nearly two weeks after he assumed office as the country’s fifth head of state, President Ruto has unveiled his Cabinet.
On Tuesday, Ruto appointed ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi as the Prime Cabinet Secretary, former Tharaka-Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki will be in charge of the Interior Ministry, while Njuguna Ndung’u has been named the Cabinet Secretary of Treasury.
Garissa Township MP Aden Duale is the new Cabinet Secretary of Defense, Kandara MP Alice Wahome will head the Water, Sanitation and Irrigation ministry, former Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua will be in charge of the Foreign and Diaspora Affairs docket while former Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has been named the CS for Trade.
Ruto also appointed former Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa as the CS for Public Service and Gender, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen (Transport), Rebecca Miano (East African Cooperation and Regional Development), Roselinda Tuya (Environment), Zacharia Njeru (Lands and Urban Development), Peninah Malonza (Tourism), former Meru senator Frankline Mithika Linturi (Agriculture and Livestock), Susan Nakhumicha Wafula (Health), and Eliud Owalo (ICT).
Others are Ezekiel Machogu (Education), Davis Chirchir (Energy), Ababu Namwamba (Youth), Simon Chelugui (SMES Developments), Salim Mvuria (Mining), and Florence Bore (Labor).
Ruto also appointed Harriet Chigai as the advisor on Women Rights Agencies, Monica Juma (Advisor National Security), and former National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi as the Attorney General.
