Authorities in DR Congo have arrested Kenyan terror suspect Salim Rashid Mohamed alias Chotara.
Salim was apprehended on suspicion of being a member of Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an Islamist rebel group in Uganda and DRC. It is alleged that Salim, who hails from Mombasa and scored an A- (minus) in the 2014 KCSE exam, is a top commander in ADF.
In November last year, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) listed Salim among the five most-wanted terror suspects in the country.
The DCI said Salim is suspected to have joined the Daesh/Islamic State terrorist group in Mozambique and was linked to various criminal activities in Mombasa and parts of the South Coast.
Police described him as armed and dangerous and appealed for any information that may lead to his arrest. A Sh10 million cash reward was offered for information regarding his whereabouts.
“Salim is reported to be planning to sneak back into the country to carry out attacks,” the DCI stated.
Salim was out on a Sh1.5 million bond over terrorism charges before he fled the country.
Why release terrorists…
Why release terrorists suspects once arrested? Big mistake! Y’all know they are sponsored, have a well webbed network of people who can aid their escape & are loaded with cash!
Cash nails and bonds shouldn’t be an option to them!
