DNA Confirms Moi Grandson Sired Politician's Two Children

Paternity tests have confirmed that Collins Toroitich Kibet is the biological father of two children whose mother sued him for child support.

Results of the DNA tests conducted at Lancet Laboratories in Nakuru confirmed that Toroitich, who is the grandson of the late former President Daniel Arap Moi, sired the two children. The test results returned a 99.9 percent probability.

“The children exhibit a compatible obligatory paternal allelic profile with that of Collins Toroitich Moi,” reads the report.

A Nakuru court ordered DNA testing in June following an application filed by Toroitich, who was sued by politician Gladys Jeruto Tagi for allegedly neglecting his two children, aged 11 and nine.

Jeruto, who unsuccessfully contested for the Koibatek Ward Representative seat in 2017, claims her former husband refused to take responsibility for the two minors despite being a man of means. She is seeking Sh1 million per month to cater for food, rent, education, entertainment, and maintenance.

Toroitich and Jeruto reportedly got married in 2008 and had two children together before divorcing four years later in 2011.

Toroitich is the son of the late Jonathan Moi, the first-born son of the late former President Moi.
