Juja businessman Evans Karani has reportedly confessed to killing his lover Catherine Nyokabi.
Karani, 38, allegedly narrated to homicide detectives how he planned and executed the gruesome killing on April 14th before trying to dump her body in a bush in Witeithie, Kiambu County.
The sand broker said he had dated Nyokabi, 25, a mother of one, for four years but he learned she was unfaithful.
On the fateful day, he invited the deceased for drinks as they solved their differences—he bought her favorite wine. They spent part of the evening drinking in his car and when she became intoxicated, he strangled her with his belt.
He then drove to Tola Estate to dispose of the body but his car got stuck in mud near Bob Harris area. Karani allegedly dismembered the body and tried to cover it with mud so it would be consumed by wild animals.
In an interview with a local TV station, Nyokabi’s father Gitonga Njogu said his daughter had already introduced Karani to the family but their relationship took a turn for the worse after they learned that the man was married and has five children.
“He came to my home many times and we even know his car. He even visited the deceased’s grandmother. When we saw his true standing, Nyokabi had reservations about getting married to him,” said Njogu.
“When she tried to leave him, he just kept following her. It seems he committed the act because he had been rejected.”
Juja DCIO Richard Mwaura said, “Nyokabi’s body had been burnt using a corrosive chemical. It appears she was tortured before being killed.”
Police traced Karani’s mobile phone signal to Githurai Kimbo where he was arrested on Friday.

I think this is a case of…
I think this is a case of mental instability fueled by insecurity,jealousy,lust,greed fear:thus making one toxic cocktail.This is beyond the object of scorn.The man is indeed amental case as evidenced by his reaction to the single girl being unfaithful to him while himself a married man of 5 kids is cheating on his wife.
I will take time here to clarify my position on infidelity/cheating,since my words on this matter have been misconstrued.
In no shape or form do I condone cheating.Yes Ihave also said that human beings were not meant to be monogamous.This truth is self evident in what we see happening in the male-female relationships world over.People cheat.Both male and female. The problem I have with the likes of Guest1,I believe from Texas is that her position puts the blame squarely on men,conveniently ignoring roles played by women.It is also helpful to note that,just because homosapiens were designed not to be monogamous,they do so for valid socially beneficial reasons- depending on the society they live in.They do it for the good of the community/society.And same could be said about polygyny ,or polyandry societies. Simply put, in every society known to mankind there has always been rules on the male-female mating game,and there are consequences to breaking these rules.That’s how societies have survived;by adhering to rules,norms,customs,and traditions.But we should also remember these customs change from generation to generations,and thus bygone traditions may not be applicable to current society,or generation(Evolution of cultures).
All in all, being honest is the best policy,in today’s society.It eliminates alot of grief in the present,and future.Disregard this”edict”at your own peril.
Back to the story at hand… the business man should hang. He committed murder.

I take it that you read my post atop this one.In there you can see that as societies evolved,they formed cultures,and customs that would benefit their survival.This was paticulary pronounce as the man entered the agrarian era,where he had to subsist on agriculture.There were no John Deere tractors.So help and corporation was necessary from the community members.Mind you,our primal instinct to breed was still as strong,and due to close proximity to each other in the agricultural era, it was cause disharmony.Much like today actually.Again rules,customs had to be adjusted.Kila mtu na wake.
