Kenya to Receive Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine from the US

Kenya has been listed among countries that will receive part of 14 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from the US by the end month.

On Monday, the Biden administration announced it will send 55 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to countries in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. The vaccines are part of President Biden’s pledge to share 80 million shots globally.

The White House said 41 out of the 55 million doses will be shared through COVAX, which will allocate roughly 14 million to countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, 16 million to Asia, and 10 million to Africa.

The remaining 14 million doses will be shared with regional priorities and other recipients, the White House added.

Those countries and regions include Colombia, Argentina, Pakistan, Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Cape Verde, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, Tunisia, Oman, Ukraine, Kosovo, Georgia, Moldova, and Bosnia.

Details of the specific vaccines and amounts will be announced later as Biden’s administration works out the logistics.

“Around 75 percent of the 80 million doses went to COVAX while 25 percent went directly to selected countries,” the White House said.

  1. While other first world…
While other first world countries were busy researching and testing their COVID-19 vaccines our researchers instead of getting to work and collaborating like India did, they were busy picking their noses and scratching their behinds waiting for nonexistent government funding. Bure, Bure kabisa.

  2. Yes, Africans like free…
Yes, Africans like free things, cheap things, second hand stuff from flea markets, Goodwill, Salvation Army etc. But free things comes with some strings attached. Only that this time around, these free drugs will be what Africans were fighting against: guinea pigs. American and European Pharmaceutical companies, who always target Africans as guinea pigs, have already got a loophole here. Aaaaa ha, give these fools free covid vaccine and huraaaah, we will now wipe them out thus achieving our long-time goals. This vaccination trumpetors are all a sham. Ile chanjo mzuri ambayo haina madhara yeyote inachanjwa wazungu na akina Uhuru na Raila. Ile ambayo bado haijafikia viwango salama ndizo mnapewa ninyi, damu inaganda miguu na madhara mengineo. Nimewapoteza jamaa watatu wa kadri miaka 70, 71 na 72. Msinilete mimi. Niachani niwe mjuaji wa kujua yatakayonidhuru na kunirehemu.

    • They like cheap things cause…
They like cheap things cause that’s what most Africans can only afford. Let’s not forget that Africa currently is the poorest region on the planet and with the most impoverished people surpassing India a few years back. A continent with an average wage of $300 monthly. The question should be why can’t Africans manufacture products to build wealth.
