Tononoka Secondary School Principal Dies Days After School was Closed over Covid-19 Positive Cases

The principal of Tononoka Secondary School Mohammed Khamis has passed away after a short illness.

His death was confirmed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), which sent a message of condolence to the family and friends.

“Following the death of Mr. Mohammed Hamis, Principal Secondary, TSC condoles and stands with the family, students and school community of Tononoka Secondary School during this difficult time,” the commission said.

Khamis had been admitted to a hospital in Mombasa where he died while undergoing treatment.

His demise comes five days after Tononoka Secondary School was closed after 11 teachers tested positive for Covid-19.

Also closed were two other Mombasa schools including Star of the Sea Girls’ and Mama Ngina High School following cases of Covid-19.
