The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has pledged support for Kenya’s war against corruption.
This follows a meeting between FBI deputy director David Bowdich and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji and Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti.
Speaking during the meeting at the bureau’s headquarters in Washington on Tuesday, Bowdich commended the two for the renewed fight against graft in Kenya.
Bowdich said the American agency will support Kenya’s efforts to curb the vice. The US promised to help Kenya establish a Joint Anti-Terrorism Task Force.
The DPP and DCI will also hold discussions on the fight against terrorism with the FBI.
During a meeting with the DCI last month, Ambassador Kyle McCarter told Kinoti that the “US is backing you 100 percent.’
Ambassador McCarter also said that Kenyans implicated in corruption would not be allowed to visit the US.
He further pointed out that their family members would be denied entry into the US and their children blocked from schooling there.
“You cannot allow somebody to steal Sh20 billion and fine them Sh10 billion. We deal with thieves in a very brutal way, not even according to the law,” said McCarter.
“Somehow, we tolerate the theft of billions in Kenya. If we stop tolerating thievery, Kenya will be a shining star for democracy and prosperity in Africa.”
I hereby welcome FBI with…
I hereby welcome FBI with they pledged to support….but just to let them know Kenyans are an unique species in the world. They can maneuver and out smart in any environ. So we’re glad to hear this but time will reveal the outcome.
Two days ago the 1000 notes were in circulation in other neighboring counties for exchanges of foreign currencies.
Good lucky!
Ok? No wonder Uganda put…
Ok? No wonder Uganda put Brakes on the Kenyan currency! Anyway …… Kenya needs to Double down from KShs.1,000,000 to KShs.500,000 for proof of “How I Made the Money or Loot.”
Same thing was done in…
Same thing was done in Tanzania yesterday. The central bank of Tanzania did put a drastically stop of the Kenya’s note of sh.1000/=
Long time ago it was mentioned that the VP Hon Ruto had a Maize Plantation in Congo…then its possible the sh. 1000/= note has already spread they as well for more shillings to they respective currency and or exchange to world major foreign currencies. This tells us Dr. Ruto must have leakage and worked it earlier.
Surely Mr friend, this Dr. Ruto deserves an honorary of Phd – cause he surely circumvetes issues faster than Uhuru does. Ati huyu nani…amazalia mbele ya Uhuru.
Unless FBI is going to…
Unless FBI is going to handle corruptions’ investigations, take the culprits to court and jail and guard them themselves in their own cells, none of this culprits will ever face the consequences! It will be waste of time. We need to start public mob justice an tumalize hi maneno hapo papo! The justice system has been corrupted! Thanks anyway FBI.
Very true. The Akasha case…
Very true. The Akasha case is almost over. If it were in Kenya they would be running circles around the judicial process.
The reality is, US cannot…
The reality is, US cannot help Kenya fight corruption in Kenya. That is internal affairs of a country. The US can help fight terrorism but not corruption. It has no jurisdiction. McCarter, cannot help. He may deny our corrupt leaders and their families entry into US and its terrories, he may stop their investments in his country, but he is a guest in Kenya and he remains just that. Corruption is our local issue and will remain that way until we all stop entertaining and admiring that which is acquired by evil, wickedness and corrupt means. Until we all start despising anything that is not acquired in truth and honesty.
Anything less than that is only to what degree it is of wickedness ,evil and corruption. Being content with what we have and caring for our kids, brothers, sisters and family is the solution.
