State House Denies President Kenyatta Hired Chopper for 'Prophet' David Owuor

State House has denied claims that President Kenyatta hired a helicopter to fly ‘Prophet’ David Owuor to Nairobi from Nakuru.

Speaking to Citizen Digital via phone on Sunday, State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena says Kenyatta didn’t send any chopper or meet the preacher as he alleges.

“I am not aware of any such meeting (between President Kenyatta and Owuor). And none (chopper) was sent out,” says Dena.

The owner of the chopper that carried Owuor, Captain Neepe also says the aircraft was hired by an individual who contacted his company, Flight Limited, via social media.

“I have done a lot of business with State House before. They always send us an LSO (Local Service Order) and they pay after a while… and you can actually see on the bank account that it is from State House. We have never dealt with them in cash,” says Neepe.

He adds: “This one was not State House. With State House normally there are protocols, we get requests from procurement. In this case, it was just an individual who called two to three days prior and paid.”

Speaking outside Merica Hotel on January 1st after the end of his three-day prayer meeting in Nakuru, the preacher told his followers that President Uhuru had sent a chopper to take him to Nairobi, where they were set to meet.

“Let me go, the President of the Republic of Kenya has sent me a helicopter,” he said in a video that surfaced online.

He was later seen boarding a helicopter registration 5Y-HNB belonging to Pro Flight Limited, alongside his bodyguards.

Before boarding, he is heard saying he’s going to meet the President at a location on Riverside Drive, Nairobi where “all the guests are coming and there is going to be a big party.”

@ Ndugu I mara, I have always stated clearly that, the day I will see a cripple walk, abind man see, adead man risen from the dead, and CNN or BBC is there to document all these accounts, I will leave my accounting work and dedicate my life to preaching that the son of mariam ,is indeed the messiah.
Blind faith is dangerous. But that’s what religion is based on; that even if you dont see or cannot do it, its there…Jesus himself said ,with faith one can move mountains.Forget moving mountains, Iwant the prophet to go heal sick children with cancer.
I dont want excuses like” its Gods will”. that xxx does not happen.Jesus never gave excuses…

  2. Talk about dancing around…
Talk about dancing around the truth. The society is intoxicated by concoction of hero-worship, half-truths and lies. Prophet or Presidency who owe us the truth?
No that we care so much who paid for the copter; but was the prophet using the president’s name in vain?
Is this in any way connected to the police escort that was accorded to the prophet?
Denying is one thing but working to shed the light on the matter a govt’s obligation.

    @Guest1:

  5. The president himself needs…
The president himself needs to come out to shed some light on this. If the head of state can fall for the tricks peddled by these religious conmen and false prophets, what about the ordinary mwananchi in the village? Who will tell these Africans that just like other people, the creator equipped them with all the power but they have chosen not to use it? @quest1, start believing today that you are already a miracle, made in the true image of the creator whom you are part of. Shame on devils with long beards disguised as prophets. Washindwe…

  6. Do we remember David Koresh,…
Do we remember David Koresh, leader of the Branch Davidian Sect, an apocalyptic religious sect? He perished with about 80 followers when they (the sect) burned down their compound after an FBI raid for guns. If you read the details of this sect, and other similar cults, ‘Prophet’ Owour’s is no different.

They all are led by extroverts who believe they are messianic figures. Such figures are able to use their affable demeanor, charisma, mind control and (often) the message of revelations to hook people into belief in an accelerated end times and the need to abandon thrift and the challenges of living in this world (the only one we have ever had and will ever have) in exchange for endless ‘joy’ in the afterlife.

They take advantage of the fact that people are often afraid of death; and that they find comfort in believing that all will be made well in the afterlife if all they have to give up in real life is skepticism & inquiry, and instead bow, chant, howl, and pray incessantly.

Curiously, membership of such cultism is across board, but is predominantly populated by the poor, who often have to part with money and other resources to keep the cult a well oiled machinery. My take is that some of its members are in it for different reasons, and here I quote Seneca, “Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false and by the rulers as useful”. Perhaps, that may explain the helicopter controversy in the story.

Some Churches have turned to social clubs asking their members to pay membership fee. Any Church that request membership fee is a social club or a cult.

    Ndugu @Maxiley:

  8. Samahani: wataalamu…
Samahani: wataalamu wanaosomea elimu ya akili wanaitwa “neuroscientists” si “nuroscientists” kama nilivyoandika hapo mapema.

    Nimependa sana uliposema:

“…I quote Seneca, “Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false and by the rulers as useful”. Perhaps, that may explain the helicopter controversy in the story.

“Seneca” ni nani? Ninawezaje kupata habari zaidi kuhusu Seneca?

    • Asante kwa Kuuliza swali…
Asante kwa Kuuliza swali hili la Seneca. Nitajibu kwa kimombo.

Lucius Annaeus Seneca also known as Seneca the Younger (4BCE – 65CE) was a 1st century Roman Philosopher and Intellectual. You will immediately note that he lived during the time when the Nazarene carpenter was supposed to be alive and making his impact in Judea, but Seneca took no notice of him or his activities!

His works, like those of Philo of Alexandria (Jewish philosopher) have nothing relating to Jesus, even though both Seneca and Philo lived during Jesus’s era within the Roman empire. Both wrote extensively on many subjects and people of their time.

But they noted the presence of many competing Christian cults, including ones represented by Peter (more conservative Jewish and guided by “works”) and Paul (more liberal and accepting of Gentiles and guided by faith). There is lot to say about these early periods and their contribution to Christianity of today, but I will leave it there.

    Ndugu @Anos:

Nimefanya utafiti mimi mwenyewe halafu nikapata asili ya mtu uliyemnukuu (the man you quoted). Jina lake kamili ni:

    “Lucius Annaeus Seneca Quotes
Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.

    Lucius Annaeus Seneca

    • @ Ndugu I mara, I might also…
@ Ndugu I mara, I might also add that, what many laymen dont know is that scholars of the day sat down and interpreted the old manuscripts of the bible. They claimed that they were inspired by the God.If that is the case shouldnt the manuscripts have been inspired as well. Therefore the so called”word of God” is essentially what scholars thought. You will also note that Catholic church has about 13 books-apocrypha,or the lost books of the bible.
As you can see, these kind of things can confuse even the learned, and how much more would they confuse the unlearned, rendering him only to believe blindly.

  12. Thanks @anos for that…
Thanks @anos for that enlightenment. As to why such great historians and thinkers like Seneca never mentioned the Christian Messiah in their works, please note that Jesus was only a spiritual, mythological figure only existing in the minds of his followers. He was not a historical figure, never existed in reality. “And the truth shall set you free”

  13. @Maxiley: Ndugu, watu…
