Outrage as Disturbing Video of Kenya Police Officer Brutalizing Unarmed Man Goes Viral Online [VIDEO]

A shocking video showing an armed police officer brutalizing an unarmed man lying on the ground has sparked outrage among Kenyan social media users.

In the one-minute, 36 seconds clip, the cop is seen stamping his left boot on the victim’s neck as he grabs his left hand.

The disturbing recording starts with the police officer standing on the victim with one boot on his neck while he repeatedly kicks him on the head with the other.

After the beating, the man then turns and lies on his stomach, but this does not stop the the officer from assaulting him as he proceeds to stand on his back while continuously kicking him at the back of his neck.

“Chini! Chini! Chini! (Down! Down! Down!),” the policeman is heard shouting even as he keeps on mistreating the man.

“Ni sawa mkubwa, ni sawa….pole.. (It’s okay boss…I’m sorry),” the man is heard saying but the officer goes ahead to step his head with his two feet as he continues to shout “Chini wewe!” (Remain down).

The  cop goes further to stand on the suspect’s head with his both feet, pinning his face on the concrete before the man rolls under a vehicle while gesturing to the security officer.

Two people then emerge at the scene, but this does little to stop the officer from assaulting the man. The video has elicited sharp reactions from Kenyans online who demanded for the arrest and prosecution of the officer.

In a statement via Twitter, the National Police Service (NPS) said it had commenced investigations into the incident.

“Our attention has been drawn to a video clip circulating in the social media of a Police officer allegedly assaulting an individual. We do not approve of it,” NPS said in a tweet.

“We are reviewing the video clip to verify it’s authenticity and shall take stern action against the officer once proven.”

It is still unclear where, when and why the incident happened.
