Raila Claims President Uhuru Addressed Kenyans while 'Under Influence of Alcohol'

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga on Sunday accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of addressing the nation “while under the influence of alcohol” moments after the Supreme Court nullified his victory on Friday.

Speaking during a rally in Mathare, the former Prime Minister said that, by doing so, President Uhuru Kenyatta lacked respect for the electorate and Kenyans at large.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader said that the head of state should have sobered up before calling for a press briefing to address Kenyans.

” Uhuru angewacha pombe ikwishe kwa akili (Uhuru should have sobered up first)” Raila stated.

“When you are President, you don’t go to address your electorate under the influence of alcohol. It’s highly disrespectful for President Kenyatta to address the Nation while drunk,” he added.

The National Super Alliance leader further took a swipe at the President for attacking the judiciary adding that “the President and his deputy were not above the law”.

“Kenya is not your property, you cannot force Kenyans to do what you want,” Odinga noted.

Raila maintained that the journey to lead his supporters to Cannan was unstoppable and that in November, they would reach the promised land.

Co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka , Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi accompanied Raila in their first rally since the Supreme Court ruling nullifying the re-election of President Kenyatta.

You have occasionally accused Uhuru as a drunkard and Uhuru has occasionally accused you as mad. If you both suffer from those vices, given a choice it is better to be a drunkard than mad.

Hunafahamu ya kwamba huyu mtu yenu ni mlevi kabisa, hiyo sio siri. Swali ndio hii: are you ready to the hand keys to your car to an individual under the influence, the answer is NO simply because such an individual has very high propensity to hurt himself and others and you might be held liable. Therefore we refuse to hand the Reighns of our country to an incompetent drankard. KAA NA MTU HUMJUE!

  5. How does RAO know that Uhuru…
How does RAO know that Uhuru was drunk? What seems obvious may not be that obvious.Uhuru may have medicated himself for whatever reason,or may have had no sleep for several hours, which is understandable given what is going on…
And if he was truly drunk, I think he did not respect himself, I would not go as far as saying that he did not respect the press.Had that been the case,he would not have shown up.
By the way a little alcohol is good for the stomach-1 Timothy 5:23…Note that little is relative.

Very good question and yet he went on to campaign all day thereafter, he must be out of this world to be drunk and eloquent whereas Raila when he is not sleeping on live tv, or sounding like a mad man . Btw Raila himself is a drunk

We all know that uhuru is an alcoholic, smokes cigarettes and marijuana.

My two question I would like to ask my fellow Kenyans who are uhurutoholics:

    1. Would you let your children ride in a bus with an alcoholic bus driver?

    2. Would you let your children go to a boarding school where the principal and his deputy were accused of committing crimes against humanity?

My dear uhurutoholics, you are scared stiff because for the first time in our Kenyan history, we have an independent judiciary.

Many crimes have been committed in Kenya since independence but no one has been arrested, prosecuted, fined, or jailed because we had a very corrupt judiciary and the police. From the deaths of Pio Gama Pinto to Chris Msando, the people who committed these heinous crimes are walking and dining as if nothing happened. They are waiting to get orders to kill more people because they know that, they will not be arrested.

Criminal Kuria, can you tell the people of Kenya why you were standing next to Msando’s car immediately after he was murdered?

    • Imara, I dont understand why…
Imara, I dont understand why you are oversimplifying the work of apresident by equating it to that of a bus driver. But I agree with you that “many crimes have been committed in Kenya since independence, but no one has been arrested(though some have)…
Your comrade RAO has now “fallen in love” with the will of the people. Now tell me what is the will of the people concerning these crimes that you mention? And yes, sure they want justice served, but if these same people keep on electing crooked official, and politicians, what do you expect. To “will” is not enough you must act,and of course within the confines ofthe law.

  9. I would say, exhaustion,…
    I would say, exhaustion, lack of sleep, shock & awe, bitterness, great anguish grief and grappling with the painful reality that only a few beings have ever had to endure. Not everyone that looks drunk is so, consider the case of this woman in the Bible 1 Samwel 1;

    12. As she kept on praying to the Lord, Eli observed her mouth. 13.Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk 14 and said to her, “How long are you going to stay drunk? Put away your wine.”

15“Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord. 16.Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.”
Some principals have been dozing off during important meetings;only to be told they were meditating with eyes closed!

  10. You believe wrong! Raila…
You believe wrong! Raila is not my comrade. Yesterday, I had a long list of people who are not fit to run for public office. Raila was in that list, so are Uhuru and Ruto too.

Kenya can definitely do better. We have people who have taken an oath against bribery and are ready and willing to sacrifice their lives. I am one of those people.

Maxiley some of us are living in foreign countries not because we want to. We are used to a way of life devoid of bribery of any kind. We are used to efficiency and accountability.
One example, the traffic police accept bribery openly and the leaders of the nation know it and don’t want to do anything about it.

There is no statute of limitation for killing innocent lives. Many innocent lives have been lost especially during and after elections. Nobody has been arrested, prosecuted, fined or imprisoned. We all know that over 1,000 innocent people lost their lives after the failed election of 2007-8. How come the people in power have not initiated grass roots movement to capture and prosecute all the people who participated in the mayhem?

I point my finger at the incompetent IEBC. These people are supposed to clear any candidate vying for any elective public office. We have criminals, thugs, rapists in our parliament because they were cleared by the useless IEBC.

In order for the nation of Kenya to stand tall again, we should reconstitute another agency (not the IEBC) to run the election next month on October 17.

Take a moment and look at the list of people that I mentioned yesterday as not fit to run for any public office.

In all future elections, the Supreme Court of Kenya should clear all candidates seeking elective office. Why? See the list of people cleared by the current corrupt “IEBC!” who were elected! The following people should not have been cleared because of they shady past:-
    1. Hassan Ali Joho
    2. Anne Mumbi Waiguru
    3. Samoei Chirchir Ruto
    4. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta
    5. Samuel Mbuvi Sonko
    6. Moses Wetangula
    7. Moses Kuria
    8. Charity Ngilu
    9. Babu Awino
    10 Ferdinand Waititu
    11 Attorney at Law Orengo
How about those who could have been elected but did not make it.
    1. Raila Amollo Odinga
    2. Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi
    3. Martha Karua
    4. Kalonzo Musyoka
    5. Former governor of Nairobi – Kidero
    6. Former mayor of Nairobi – Aladwa
    7. Moses Akaranga
I have complete confidence in the great works the current supreme court is doing. In order to return to normalcy, we should empower the supreme court of Kenya to clear any potential candidate to run for public office.
The current attorney general of Kenya, the head of the CID, and the head of the police should be fired for their gross incompetence. 28 people were killed after the last election, how come no one has been arrested and interrogated for the unnecessary loss of lives? What about the ten year old girl shot by the police!
How come the people who killed Jacob Juma and Chris Msando have not yet been arrested? We all saw Moses Kuria standing next to Msando’s vehicle making sarcastic remarks about him. How come he has not been arrested and asked to tell the people of Kenya what he knows about the death of Msando?

    • Imara, I have no arguement…
Imara, I have no arguement as to who is corrupt. I concern is, why do we keep electing these people. Your list consists of people who were elected by wananchi. My question to you is how does that happen? We should not elect them in the first place. What do you say?

  12. Like I said elsewhere, Uhuru…
Like I said elsewhere, Uhuru was seemingly high on something, but then again who can blame the guy for that after this humiliating turn about? Odinga likes to throw dirt and distract from the main topic. I wonder what he (Raila) is on? His stamina and posture is well above what one would expect at his age. Whilst I am not a big fan of these two, I know if push came to shove, I would definately go Uhuru for he does not incite violence. Raila on the other hand… I would not trust coz I feel he has “issues”. I truly believe he would do an Idi Amin if he was elected and try to evict the Kikuyu away or incite his followers to do so. Peace would be a distant memory for the majority. Just cast an eye at the ease at which “they” call for division, or like D Mwose or Mkosa, loosely calls for violence herein. I am starting to feel that despite the progress we have made, the Luos are stuck in the past. If Raila dropped dead today, I swear they would still insist he is made president. Daft. Hiyo masomo yote and ma degree, lakini nothing constructive comes out….I despair!

  13. Great job Maraga. You’ve…
Great job Maraga. You’ve earned a golden seat in Heaven in pursuit for justice. Don’t be cowed or intimidated by Jubilee crooks. And you William Ruto, not unless you are dreaming, Mt Kenya people will never give you Uthamaki…you can take this to the bank.

  14. @Maxiley:…
    @Maxiley:

Wananchi are poor and destitute. If you buy them a loaf of bread, they will definitely vote for you. Hunger will make a human being do the impossible.

The problem is with the clearance given to these people whose closets are full of skeletons by the IEBC to run for an elective office.

I don’t blame the wananchi. The entire blame falls on the crooked members of the IEBC. Why? They clear candidates with a shady past to run for an elective office. Can you tell me how people such as Sonko, Kidero, and Waiguru got their clearance from the IEBC?

    • And why was Joho cleared,…
And why was Joho cleared, selective amnesia. No matter how you dice it and pretend here how logical you are – you are not!

  15. The guy was drunk. Admit it…
The guy was drunk. Admit it all you jubliee fanatics. Now you are attacking Raila for calling him out, He is just doing what his people are known for nowadays binge drinking so that their women are having to look elsewhere if they hope to procreate

  16. The witty Winston Churchill…
The witty Winston Churchill once had spat with a female Parliamentarian who accused him of being drunk. Churchill quickly quipped that she was ugly and that in the morning, while he would be sober, she would still be ugly…. Go figure.
