National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidateRaila Odinga has followed President Uhuru move to boycott the 2017 presidential debate, unless the current format is changed.
NASA senior adviser Salim Lone in a statement to the media on Wednesday announced the move hours after Jubilee Party said President Uhuru will not participate in the debate, citing lack of communication from the organizers.
Lone said: “The NASA presidential campaign secretariat has urged the President to be open to debating Raila on issues affecting Kenyans in the present circumstances.”
The first debate is scheduled for on Monday July, 10 while the second one will be held on July 24.
Other candidates expected to take part in the debate include Cyrus Jirongo (United Democratic Party), Ekuru Aukot (Third way Alliance), Abduba Dida (Alliance for Real Change) and independents Joseph Nyagah, Michael Wainaina and Japheth Kavinga.
