Bomet Governor Dr. Joyce Laboso has passed away in Nairobi aged 58.
Dr. Laboso reportedly died while undergoing medication at Nairobi Hospital on Monday after a long battle with illness.
Her passing comes hours after Bomet County director of communication Ezra Kirui announced she had been placed on full bed rest following a recommendation by her doctors at the facility. Kirui also said doctors recommended limited visitation but noted that she was faring well.
“The governor’s doctors have recommended she get enough rest for a speedy recovery and advise limited visits,” Kirui said in a statement.
“She acknowledges the overwhelming goodwill messages and prayers as she responds to treatment.”
Dr. Laboso has been undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since she jetted back to the country on July 14th after a medical trip abroad.
Laboso had left the country for the United Kingdom on May 29th after handing over duties to Deputy Governor Hillary Barchok.
She spent six weeks at London’s Royal Marden NHS Foundation Trust Hospital before she was discharged to seek further treatment in India.
This is sad. RIP Laboso…
This is sad. RIP Laboso. Okoth and her demise gives us more reason to invest in our capacity to detect ailments early. I don’t know what ailed her but I know that some diseases when detected early are fully treatable.
London’s Royal Marden NHS…
London’s Royal Marden NHS Foundation Trust Hospital is the London’s top cancer institute. It’s alleged that she succumbed to uterine cancer with metastasis to other organs. Unlike Okoth, Mrs. Laboso tried hard to conceal her illness from the public. May she RIP.

I SWEAR TO GOD, YOU GOTTA BE THE UNDISPUTED INEPT BAFOON TO EVER BE BORN. HOW THE HELL DID THE SPERM THAT SHIT YOU BEAT THE OTHERS?
I normally disagree with…
I normally disagree with Halisi but having just returned from Kenya all I could see were hard working people thwarted by thieving leaders. When you reach a certain age you become aware you have fewer days ahead than you have behind. Prepare accordingly. Death is always regrettable and hard for the survivors. The question remains, who paid for the overseas stay and if she did where did the money come from. Also why don’t these “leaders” work on getting first class hospitals built that would deal with all ailments affecting Kenyans. Indeed why does the country not have university hospitals that will train and do research geared to people in Kenya? Research abroad is geared to a primarily white population and the ailments killing Black Americans aren’t the same as in Kenya. These leaders are only reaping what they sowed.

I would recommend you get checked for any tumors or cysts in your brain. Some’s wrong with you definitely.

Newspaper headline “Laboso’s death a big blow to Ruto camp”. That camp is a bottomless corruption hole. What does that say about her? What did she do for the people of Bomet?

Poleni sana but a lesson to all the politicians, disease do not discriminate and death cannot be bribed with money. I do not know her track record but we have lost two politicians in a week, something really really bad is going on in Kenya. Food/water contaminated and nobody seems to care.
RIP Laboso.
This should be a…
RIP Laboso.
This should be a wake up call for our leaders. We are either going to care for one another like the real God intended or we will perish together like fools. When our leaders (our gate keepers) are compromised by corruption and greed, they put the citizenry in danger.
How many are going to die before we ask real questions? Putting emotions aside.
How much is made when one is diagnosed with cancer? How much do they spend on medication in their lifetime? How much did she spend in Europe in hospital bill’s (bill’s for treatment, medication ,accomodation ); how much on air-fares back and forth.
In reality, when you are a leader you are bribed to allow poisoning centers to be licensed in our country because you dont care. Eventually that poison gets to you.
Everything you have stolen from your people, towards the end of your life, you write a huge chunk of your will to foreign nations ( wherever you trust to care for you- whether USA; Britain or any of the Edormite countries). You die anyway and leave your fellow citizens struggling.
Our leaders need to do some soul searching. ” Whatever a man soweth, so shall he rip” God is not mocked.
Our leaders should start asking, who is next? and how do we change our ways? How do we make sure or at least work towards making sure those who benefit out of our misery dont anymore. How do we help our citizens who cannot afford trips to foreign countries and treatment in foreign countries? What kind of legacy are we leaving?
Time to choose between corruption and your health and that of your country.
As we go to the grave, they go to the bank.
RIP Joyce and we will keep your family in our prayers.
