The police have disclosed the identity of the primary suspect thought to be responsible for the horrific killings of a mother, daughter, and 13-year-old niece in Eastleigh on October 22.

The victims vanished on October 21, only to be discovered murdered the following day in various locations across the metropolitan area. Law enforcement officials have revealed crucial surveillance footage showing the suspect driving a vehicle that collected the victims from their residence shortly before their disappearance. One body was found in Bahati, Makadara, another in Parklands’ 6th Avenue, and the third in Machakos County. In a particularly disturbing development, one victim was discovered with severed hands, which were later recovered along Five-Star Road in South C.

Investigators have made notable progress in the case, securing the suspect’s abandoned vehicle at Wakulima Market near the ENA Coach stage. The vehicle has been transferred to DCI headquarters for thorough forensic examination. Additionally, one person of interest is currently assisting authorities with their inquiries, though their identity remains undisclosed. On October 25, the City Mortuary conducted postmortem examinations providing investigators with crucial forensic evidence to piece together the sequence of events.

As the investigation unfolds, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations has established a dedicated toll-free hotline (0800 722 203) for public assistance. The Police Inspector General Douglas Kanja yesterday acknowledged an alarming rise in murder cases over the past two months. He mentioned that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has intensified its efforts to capture the culprits. A comparative analysis of murder cases reported from August to October for the years 2022-2024 reveals a slight increase. In 2024, a total of 339 murder cases have been recorded so far, compared to 336 cases in 2023 and 341 cases in 2022.

We hope that our judiciary does it’s job as it did with Gachagua’s impeachment. Let’s respect ourselves by honoring our three arms of our government. Legislature, judiciary, and the executive. Not just on paper boys and girls.
