The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has apprehended three suspects in Donholm, Nairobi County in a drug trafficking operation.
The suspects were allegedly planning to transport 6.8 kilograms of cocaine worth an estimated Sh27.5 million. The arrest, which took place on Saturday, unfolded when a team of detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) and the Organized Student Unit (OSU) intercepted the suspects at their residence in the New Donholm area. During the operation, the officers discovered a black suitcase containing a few clothing items, toiletries, and three seemingly innocent teddy bears.
However, upon closer inspection, the detectives uncovered a well-concealed stash of 298 cocaine pellets ingeniously hidden within the stuffed toys. The confiscated narcotics, weighing approximately 6.8 kilograms, are estimated to have a staggering street value of Sh27.5 million. The officers also uncovered several air tickets in the name of the female suspect, suggesting plans for potential international distribution of the illicit drugs. The DCI has expressed gratitude to vigilant members of the public who provided crucial information that led to the successful operation. Their willingness to report suspicious activities helped in dismantling this drug syndicate.
In a related development, the DCI also recovered a loaded AK47 rifle and a bale of bhang (cannabis) hidden inside a suspect’s house in Meru County. The suspect managed to evade arrest by fleeing upon the officers’ approach. The Kenyan authorities remain resolute in their commitment to curbing drug trafficking and associated crimes within the country’s borders.

Very nice sound bytes. No double there is a segment of authorities that are committed to their work, and want to see crime under control. However, they seem to be in the minority when it comes to who wields the power to effect. Until the police department ride itself of crooked cops, they shall forever remain friends of the criminals, and thus public enemies.
Yes the corrupt justice system thrives on big cases such as this one where the payoff is big. It’s only through the public that things can get straightened out as exemplified in this piece. The public should not tolerate corruption.
It is those in power who unfortunately enable evil to flourish. This is no surprise, but it has been revealed that Linturi the CS in the midst of the fertilizer scandal survived impeachment because he bribed agood number of MPigs. Where is Ruto with his mantra of,”there will be no sacred cows?” Mmmmmm… but sacred bulls.I guess.
