New details have emerged in a developing case surrounding the mysterious demise of a woman found alongside two individuals linked to a violent robbery in Eastleigh.
The woman, known as Esther Wanjiku Karuri or Bobo Shanty, was last seen in Mombasa in the company of Fredrick Kopo Obote (Frik) and Jaylan Kibe, two suspects connected to the robbery. Tragically, their bodies were later discovered in separate locations across Nairobi and Kiambu counties. According to a knowledgeable officer privy to the investigation, Kopo was identified as the one who discharged the firearm during the violent heist captured on CCTV footage while Kibe served as the getaway driver.
The victim Adan Ali Mohamed lost Sh 3.9 million and is currently hospitalized in critical condition within the city. Esther’s body was initially found in Ruiri and subsequently transferred to the city mortuary before being moved to Chiromo by her family earlier this week. Those who knew her described her as an individual who embraced a vibrant and fast-paced lifestyle, frequently sharing fashionable videos on platforms like TikTok where she showcased her affinity for the finer things in life. In several videos, she’s captured including indulging in bhang while listening to reggae tunes.
Beyond her stylish pursuits, Esther harboured a passion for football and was an ardent supporter of Manchester United. However, her reputation took a hit in December 2023 when she was accused of stealing Sh20,000 and a phone from a man she met at a club. The incident gained traction on social media platforms after a friend of the victim shared the unfortunate story online, prompting efforts to locate Esther, albeit unsuccessfully. Martin Mavenjina of the KHRC emphasizes the importance of apprehending and prosecuting those implicated in the homicide.
