The Azimio La Umoja has taken a crucial step in addressing the disputed 2022 presidential election.
Azimio leader Raila Odinga recently announced the appointment of a three-member panel tasked with evaluating the electoral process following the parliamentary approval of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) in February 2024. This initiative signifies a significant development stemming from the contested 2022 polls, where Odinga challenged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s (IEBC) declaration of William Ruto as the winner.
Despite Odinga’s unsuccessful petition at the Supreme Court, ongoing dialogue between the opposition and the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration culminated in the NADCO report. This report, endorsed by Parliament, mandates the formation of a six-member evaluation panel within 21 days. The selection process for Azimio’s panel adheres to the NADCO directives. The appointed members Amos Wako (former Attorney-General and ex-senator), Judith Pareno (former Nominated Senator), and Julius Njiraini (forensic expert and director of Julkin Technologies), demonstrate expertise in law, public service, and technology.
Notably, Njiraini’s qualifications in computer security and forensics are particularly relevant for examining the technical aspects of the electoral process. The newly formed panel faces the critical task of fulfilling its mandate swiftly. Their primary objective is to thoroughly evaluate the 2022 election, addressing concerns regarding transparency and legitimacy. This evaluation will involve the selection of a reputable firm or consortium, as outlined in the NADCO report. Ultimately, the panel will present a unified report to Parliament based on the firm’s findings.
Parliament has already introduced nine bills to assist in implementing the NADCO report. Recently, Raila Odinga expressed concerns about potential obstacles to the progress of the National Dialogue Committee report. In response, the Azimio Summit, the coalition’s decision-making body, released a strong statement accusing elements associated with Kenya Kwanza of actively undermining the report’s credibility. The statement warns that any attempts to manipulate or undermine the report will not be ignored and will have serious consequences.
Stop wasting taxpayer funds…
Stop wasting taxpayer funds or in this case those that have contributed to Azimio.Concentrate on 2027 get this thug with a fake PHD out eti daktari lumbago. He is currently exporting Kényan labour anywhere and everywhere as he continues to dream of how their foreign remittances will prop up his corrupt government. For those remaining he is taxing them for houses which even when built will be grabbed by him and his thugs. Now Kenyan police who have zero experience in war considering most of them were either not born or too young to remember the 1982 Coup do not know what a war zone looks like .They are being blindly sacrificed .The Haitian president cannot get back to his own country do you think these “pretend Kenyan mercenaries “ stand a chance. He needs to send his own children and kinsmen maybe they will outrun ??♂️these heathen who kill for sport .
Congratulations Guest, you…
Congratulations Guest, you hit the nail aty the top!!!!
They were first given the…
They were first given the final report, their job is to find anything, no matter how remote, that will support the final report. If this was a true audit, it would include information on how the four IEBC members were transported to Serena. The voting in Embakasi, returning officer abducted and killed, four clerks with voting materials booked at central police station, what happened to them. DCI and the Venezuelans, this was on UK’s watch. We know there’s no international travel with expired passport. And finally, the fighting at Bomas.
This idiot is still active…
This idiot is still active politiccally? I still feel haunted by his fake smiles in the 90’s during the late dictator Moi’s evil regime. This fake guy stamped every decision made by the clowns of that heinous rule without blinking, then smiling when Moi abused human rights, impoverished ordinary citizenry, as him, late Biwott, etc. stashed Kenya’s billions in offshore accounts. Bure kabisa as then!!!!
