President William Ruto has an official State visit lined up in Washington, US, on May 23, 2024, during which President Joe Biden will host him.

In a tweet, Ruto affirms that the upcoming visit will honour the 60-year partnership between the United States and Kenya. He conveys gratitude on behalf of the Kenyan people and government while also acknowledging the occasion as a chance to celebrate the beginning of Kenya’s independence. He shares his enthusiasm for the upcoming meeting and notes that he and President Biden plan to engage on topics that are mutually beneficial for both nations.

Kenya views the state visit as a crucial chance to demonstrate a fresh era of robust partnership, intending to improve trade and investment while backing green energy, digitization, and improving human welfare, peace and security. Ultimately, they aspire to foster global synergy for the benefit of Kenya, Africa and the Global South. President Ruto is looking forward to engaging in a wide range of topics with President Biden.

Various areas will be discussed, including economics, politics, and diplomacy. Moreover, both Presidents share key values that guide their governments and efforts towards achieving mutual alignment and cooperation. Ruto has commented on the upcoming State Visit in May in light of White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s announcement. President Biden and First Lady Jill will be hosting Ruto and First Lady Rachel during this visit. Jean-Pierre emphasized that the purpose of the visit is to strengthen the commitment to peace and security, foster economic connections, and unite in safeguarding democratic principles.

“Kenya views the State visit as a high profile opportunity to articulate a new era of dynamic partnership aimed at transforming trade and investment, green energy and climate action, digital technology and innovation, health and human development, peace and security as well as multilateralism and collective action to deliver shared prosperity for Kenya, Africa, the Global South and the entire world,” reads Ruto’s message on his X account.

  1. Oh my God, I wonder what…
Oh my God, I wonder what other deal is he going to agree to now that will see Kenya sink more and more into the underbelly of American imperialism. Folks, remember, when a US president invites a president from a poor country to the White House, the benefits always tilt more towards American interests.

Errors , errors & more errors.

    This is just pathetic.

  3. Speak for Kenya. Leave other…
Speak for Kenya. Leave other countries or regions alone. You don’t represent them. Avoid presenting beautiful speeches to display your oratorical skills. Provide serious well thought out plans for Kenya. You are not coming here to do politics. This is not a trip to Kiambu. Address issues and avoid rhetorics. Otherwise you will only depict yourself as a stupid African trying to impress his master.

    • Agreed. It’s all about…
Agreed. It’s all about interests and being strategic for the sake of your nation. The US uses civilians, Govt officials, military, organizations, CIA to advance its economic interests as priority. No point for Ruto to speak on behalf of Africa when he’s president of Kenya. Africa presidents can draft a statement thru AU.

Most of you here that have negative comments about this meeting are sounding like complete haters. Ruto might not be your favorite but if you have any intelligence you would realize that he is calculative and one of the smartest leaders Kenya has had in power. Let him do the job of making Kenya shine. Nothing great comes easy or right away, but I am sure his bottom- up formula is starting to work on Kenya’s economy.

  6. There is no bottom up…
There is no bottom up succeeding here. Ruto was selected by Americans. A while ago he was shouting anbout Africans abandoning the dollar, to create the impression that he was not selected by the US. He has now returned to the slaver and the shilling miraculously recovers…the games people play! So what has really improved in Kenya? Banks will cut 15% jobs soon. No love for Ruto here. He can disappear in a DC hotel for all I care. Mudavadi the fool was in DC to clear a path for them to sell the country down the river. The Useful idiots that Kenya breeds
