You Can't Take a Good Man Down: Mutahi Ngunyi's Rare Praise for Moses Kuria
Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi on Tuesday conveyed his rare support for the Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria describing him as a resilient individual who cannot be easily brought down.

During an interview on X, Ngunyi pointed out that Kuria, having assumed his position in the Public service department, seems eager to inspect the government’s activities and projects. Ngunyi stated that this quality makes Kuria look like a prime minister, adding that he appreciates Kuria’s innovative use of power. Additionally, Ngunyi admitted that Kuria influences whatever position he is given, magnifying its importance. Ngunyi believes that the CS is doing an excellent job.

It is worth noting that these remarks were made in response to Kuria’s apparent demotion following a recent Cabinet reshuffle by President William Ruto. In a statement, Kuria emphasized that all Public Servants must either fulfil their duties to the people or leave their positions. During his time in office, he plans to revolutionize public service by focusing on efficient service delivery. In a bold move, Kuria was transferred from the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry to take charge of Public Service, with Rebecca Miano taking his place.

This move grants Kuria significant influence in national politics. In a communication sent out by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei on October 4, Water CS Alice Wahome swapped positions with Zachary Njeru from the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, and Urban Development. Foreign and Diaspora Affairs CS Alfred Mutua was reassigned to the Tourism and Wildlife docket, while Aisha Jumwa, the CS for Public Service, Gender, and Affirmative Action was moved to the Ministry of Gender, Culture, Arts, and Heritage.

Peninah Malonza was transferred from the Tourism docket to the Ministry of East Africa Community, the ASALS, and East Africa Development. Additionally, the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary’s portfolio was expanded to include the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

  1. Let President Ruto do his…
Let President Ruto do his job. The problem will be when Ruto’s government starts attacking a people’s spirituality or beliefs.
Let President Ruto learn of the empty churches in Europe and the western churches.
Attacking “Mihiriga Kenda” is attacking every Gikuyu because they all belong to these Mihiriga.
As their cultural practices are attacked, all will be aware and join.
    Attack anything but their beliefs.
Separate the church and state. Join the church war with the state and fail
    Just like the Mzungu failed.
Long live the Gikuyu, their language and culture.
May their God, Mwene Nyaga protect them in all these attacks!!

  2. Ngunyi, unapomvisha kiremba…

Kuria is merely using the time honored tradition of making public noise as a strategy to get publicity and supporters. We have some like Linturi who have used rape as a publicity tool and others who have faked arrests and deaths. Has anyone not heard of an aspiring 2027 gubernatorial candidate in Bungoma who has been walking around the streets stabbing the air with a spear while calling himself Mkuki Mkombozi?
