Two brothers, aged 19 and 30, have been arrested by police in Mbeere South, Embu County, for killing their mother’s lover, Peter Mwangi, in Itherembu village, Mariari location.

Mbeere South Police Commander Harrison Njuguna said on Tuesday that the DCI officers from Kiritiri Police Station have initiated an investigation to uncover the mystery surrounding the 45-year-old man’s death. One of the brothers, David Kinyua, surrendered to the police while the other, Kelvin Macharia, was apprehended by the area chief and villagers after he was found asleep at his home.

“We are holding the two brothers and will seek permission from the Siakago law courts to hold them further as we pursue more information that will lead to a conclusive investigation,” said Njuguna.

The commander said the authorities have taken the body of the deceased to the Embu Level 5 Hospital mortuary for a postmortem which will assist in further investigations. A nearby resident reported that the brothers attempted to make Mwangi leave their mother’s home where he had stayed overnight on Sunday, but their efforts were unsuccessful. According to a villager, a fight erupted when the deceased confronted the two men because he wanted to spend the night with their mother.

The deceased claimed that they were lovers but the brothers objected and declared that only their father was allowed to spend the night with their mother. According to reports, the woman currently resides in the matrimonial home while her husband has moved to a different property in Kiambere Ward due to rumored marital differences.

There is a case eerily similar to this in Kandara constituency. The major difference being that the man “being replaced” was deceased.

      The worst…

      Comrade Maxiley,
The worst thing a man can do to another man is F$$k his wife in his own bed. Get a hotel, banana plantation etc, but not in my bed. The only difference here is, the boys did it. If the mam of the house had done it, he would have gone home scot free.

@Kora Kanini I totally agree with you. F##44King Someone’s wife is bad enough, but to do it in the same bed he romps with the same wife,is emasculation of highest level. That said, for the love of me,I cannot wrap my mind around why some people have 3somes.Btw, I bet most of these three somes are aman with two women, and not 2 men with a woman, except probably in movies or porn.
Hey @ comrade,I value your opinion. What is your take on polyandry?

This is a manfestation of cultural and traditional errosion of apeople.

“The killing of a person is not part of the original tradition of the COHO (Continent of Human Origins) people. These two men committed an unpardonable mistake for terminating the life of their mother’s boyfriend.”

Thank you @ Suluhisho. That’s what happens when people resort to their emotions instead of their intelect. They will not escape the punishment.I think senseless killings like this one, should be punished by also eliminating the criminals from this earth. No point feeding them ‘for life’ in prison, at our expense.

  5. What’s up with this men…
What’s up with this men called Mwangi? They seem to always make bad decisions with irreversible consequences. No wonder we have so many Kamaus, Mainas, and Njoroges because they tend to use the right head not the one hidden where the sun don’t shine.

Them fackin brothers ought to be hanged by the neck until pronounced dead, they have no business deciding who their mother should love and have sexual relationships with, zero!!!

@ Juju, I agree with you. I liken what they have done to honor-killings- some followers of Prophet Mohammad employ.Granded noboby wants to see their mother conoodling with someone other than the father, these two were heavy-handed in their punishement.
I will let social scientists grapple with causes, and effects of human behavior, but I would like someone to tell me why love, and sex, things that are supposed to be pleasent, and somehow enjoyable to homosapiens cause so much pain and suffering…I would think after millions of years of evolving,by now we would do better.I guess we may need another million years…Strange considering how we have advanced in technology.
