President Ruto has made new appointments in the Presidential Communication Service (PCS) office, which is headed by David Mugonyi.
Munyori Buku was named the Public Communications Secretary, David Nzioka the Digital and Innovations Secretary, and Eric Ngeno the Messaging Secretary and Speechwriter in the presidential communication office.
The president also appointed James Kinyua as the Branding and Events Secretary in the office while Wanjohi Githae will serve as the Public Communications Director.
At the same time, Ruto split the office of State House spokesperson held by journalist Hussein Mohamed with that of the Head of Presidential Communication Service (PSC) occupied by Mugonyi.
Mohamed will now lead a team of communicators, and researchers and will provide an interface with other arms of government.
The appointments and changes were made in the Executive Order No.1 of 2023 issued by the president on Monday reassigning functions and institutions among ministries and State departments.
