Attorney-General Justin Muturi has proposed that the anti-corruption anthem be sung alongside the national anthem and the East African Community (EAC) anthem.
Muturi argued that Kenyans needed to be reminded constantly of the main problem ailing the country, hailing the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) anthem as a great song that can help curb corruption.
“In order to do this we must apparently be reminded every hour, every day just like we say the Lord’s prayer. So am saying this because there was a very nice song. I don’t know why I have never heard it before but when I heard it I wondered why don’t we have it. The anti-corruption song,” Muturi said.
Speaking during the commemoration of International Anti-Corruption Day 2022 at the Kenya School of Government on Friday, the attorney-general said there were many functions where the national anthem and the EAC anthem are sung, and it would be prudent if the EACC anthem is included too.
“We have so many functions that we are invited and we attend. We only do the national anthem and the EAC anthem. I think I would propose those of us in clip to have this (EACC anthem) included,” he added.
Muturi, a former National Assembly Speaker, further called for transparency in the way the government procures public services.
“If we can cure even 50% of the malpractices in the procurement of goods and services in the public, we will be on our way to save this country so much resources,” he said.
Justin Muturi, Anti…
Justin Muturi, Anti corruption song will not do it. Corruption everywhere in churches, schools, even the so called ” most holy” places.
All have been tried.
What is the solution?
Knowing who we are and going back to who we are. Luckily, that journey is an individual and spiritual journey. It has already started. Just keep watching this space. Every journey starts with the first step. On corruption the citizenry is tired of the tranqualizing drug of gradualism.
Soon there will be no corruption.
We are moving to a new era of truth!!
Is this the best AG can come…
Is this the best AG can come up with for slowing down corruption-Singing? He should be impeached. If corruption individuals never miss church, and pray every day, what will a mere vocalization of world they even don’t practice do? Heavy Punishment is the key.Nobody needs to be reminded that corruption is wrong, and nobody should escape punishment.Let them sing after punishment,or while in jail.
Muturi is now singing a song…
Muturi is now singing a song that he is personally a part of the corruption train. Please go lie to the hustlers as you normally do. You can sing all you want Muturi but the most corrupt are within your rank and all the way to the top. They have been stealing the country blind and a mere song will not curb corruption in Kenya. You can recommend shooting the thieves in a public arena to solve the corruption appetite in Kenya. You are just dinging that song alone!
Wakanda shit is this?!
Wakanda shit is this?!
I am glad you have…
I am glad you have acknowledged this filth publicly. It is eating our once moral society apart. Maybe, like you said, the song may help iour youth as they were born and are growing up thinking that this vice is the norm in a normal society.
Thank you for now.
