Kenyan-Canadian attorney Miguna Miguna has dismissed Roots Party presidential candidate Prof. George Wajackoyah’s pledge to legalize marijuana and introduce snake farming as a way of revamping the economy and paying the country’s huge debt.
Miguna termed Wajackoyah’s proposals as unrealistic, adding that most countries that have legalized marijuana have not prioritized it as their main source of economic growth.
“Campaigning on silliness about marijuana, snake farming and other silly pursuits constitute cowardice. Kenya’s problems do not require doing anything crazy or stupid. It only requires fearlessness, vision and transformative agenda,” Miguna wrote on Twitter.
“Marijuana has been legalized in many countries including Canada, some states in the US and a number of EU countries. But that has not made marijuana the leading economic earner. To suggest that legalizing marijuana will mythically solve all Kenya’s problems is to be unhinged.”
Miguna opined that seizing stolen wealth and land is the surest way Kenya can recover economically and eliminate debt.
“If all Kenyans want is to introduce substances or things that can earn us money to pay foreign debt, here is the magic bullet. This will eliminate all debt. Seize all the stolen land and wealt,” he added.
The firebrand lawyer further tore into Wajackoyah’s proposal to suspend the constitution if elected the fifth president of Kenya. “You don’t fix Kenya by subverting the Constitution that the people gave themselves in 2010. Using, reason, logic and vision are the solutions,” said Miguna.
I would agree with Mary Jane…
I would agree with Mary Jane and snake farming not being panaceas to solving the national debt problem but they would certainly help diversify the economy. Depending on tourism(COVID anyone?)agriculture(climate change) or the diaspora for foreign exchange earnings, as consecutive governments have done, isn’t a good plan. Instead of being a nabob of negativity, he should give us his plan. It’s strange he should talk about subverting the same constitution he adamantly wants to ignore.
Dump ass! How’s seizing…
Dump ass! How’s seizing stolen land going to solve immediate and urgent problems in kenya? The country has huge loans to pay every month!
Seizing stolen wealth is a goal, but, we need measures that will stimulate & stabilize the country’s economy asap coz the country is at the brink of collapsing & defaulting in debts!
imagine Kenya having a weed…
imagine Kenya having a weed culture generation and with leaders who often hallucinating unthinkable of copy and paste ideas is a big shame to IEBC mandate.
You got your dope head look…
You got your dope head look alike Miguna Miguna running for president and therefore you should join him to liberate the opium smokers. You should also add liquor and njohi ya mutu among the list of items you should be taking from dawn to midnight. You dummies!
Why does marijuana need to…
Why does marijuana need to be legalized while Miguna Miguna freely takes the illegal drugs every day. That’s why he poking holes in the drugs issues because right now he is highly inebriated.
Cannabis consumers deserve…
Cannabis consumers deserve and demand equal rights and protections under our laws that are currently afforded to the drinkers of far more dangerous and deadly, yet perfectly legal, widely accepted, endlessly advertised and even glorified as an All-American pastime, alcohol.
Plain and simple!
Legalize Worldwide Now!
Fear of Cannabis Legalization Nationwide is unfounded. Not based on any science or fact whatsoever. So please prohibitionists, we beg you to give your scare tactics, “Conspiracy Theories” and “Doomsday Scenarios” over the inevitable Legalization of Cannabis Worldwide a rest. Nobody is buying them anymore these days. Okay?
Furthermore, if all prohibitionists get when they look into that nice, big and shiny crystal ball of theirs, while wondering about the future of cannabis legalization, is horror, doom, and despair, well then I suggest they return that thing as quickly as possible and reclaim the money they shelled out for it, since it’s obviously defective.
The prohibition of cannabis has not decreased the supply nor the demand for cannabis at all. Not one single iota, and it never will. Just a huge and complete waste of our tax dollars to continue criminalizing citizens for choosing a natural, non-toxic, relatively benign plant proven to be much safer than alcohol.
If prohibitionists are going to take it upon themselves to worry about “saving us all” from ourselves, then they need to start with the drug that causes more death and destruction than every other drug in the world COMBINED, which is alcohol!
Why do prohibitionists feel the continued need to vilify and demonize cannabis when they could more wisely focus their efforts on a real, proven killer, alcohol, which again causes more destruction, violence, and death than all other drugs, COMBINED?
Prohibitionists really should get their priorities straight and/or practice a little live and let live. They’ll live longer, happier, and healthier, with a lot less stress if they refrain from being bent on trying to control others through Draconian Cannabis Laws.
Not wrong with…
Not wrong with diversification Miguna. Kenya has a place for snake farming too. Taking back stolen wealth and land will help too and we can start with the stolen Weston Hotel.
I was once a big supporter…
I was once a big supporter of Miguna, then I came to understand this dude is a buffoon who won’t listen to any reason. He likes to have screaming matches over stuff he has no knowledge of. That being said, no wonder no one wants anything to do with this dude, not even a useful idiot, just an idiot, plain and simple.
All grabbed land must be…
All grabbed land must be forcefully seized and looted trillions recovered on top of jailing the elite thugs. It is surprising that some fools believe Uhuru and Raila have the right to loot as they own Kenyans.UPUUZI TUPU.All murderers and looters should even FACE THE FIRING SQUAD irrespective of who you are.
The roots party is…
The roots party is attempting to introduce new/odd ways for people to make money. And this might change how youth think about economic life. Our institutions condition them to train and expect to be employed but that reality has long changed and should be substituted with a mindset for creativity. If marijuana farming earned our economy 20 million dollars and boosted tourism by 5%, and we export snake oil, our economy would benefit more than with empty talk we receive daily from the usual suspects.
It is so sad that a good…
It is so sad that a good percentage of our youths are likely to believe in Wajakoya’s bhangi initiative. That means a certain generation is about to be ruined again. Which country in the world has bhangi for economic gains?
The legalization of…
The legalization of marijuana would mean that there would be increased production , advertisement and consumption of marijuana in the population. Big Business would also be emboldened to take legalization as a license for increased promotion of the drug in the populace in order to increase profits. This is NOT a panacea at all. The state has a very strong interest in preventing increased addictions and mental health problems associated with the drug use. Conservatives should continue to hold the line on this one.
Why does Miguna Miguna care…
Why does Miguna Miguna care anyway. He said that Ruto would win.The ” cannabilista “should not pose any threat to his candidate of choice…
I have read what the cannabilista says, but I dont not get the notion that he pins his ecomonic agenda on Marijuana, and snake farms as the building blocks of a stable and sound economy .
Anyway, what Iwanted to say is that, as we all know, when it comes to money and greed, most people in Kenya would put their morals, ethics, and integrity on hold. For example, if we legalize marijuana now, people like Ruto with thousand of acres of land would be the first to venture into this “new” cash crop and give a tenth of the proceeds to the churches which would promptly praise him,and call him agood christian. And Miguna would open a law office in Eldoret to defend and protect Ruto’s interests.I guess that’s what they call a Win- Win deal.
