Independent, Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has commenced the process of verifying the voter register ahead of the August 9th general elections.
The commission suspended voter registration in Kenya and diaspora until March 13th, 2023, to make the voter register available to the public for verification.
Voters, including those in the diaspora, are required to check whether their biometric data has been captured correctly in the register.
Those who have issues with their data have been asked to make a claim to the Registration Officer at any IEBC office across the country with a valid identity card or passport.
After the verification exercise, IEBC will gazette the final register to be used in the forthcoming general elections.
The electoral commission has given voters until June 2nd to check their details in the register.
One can verify their voter registration details by sending ID or Passport number, depending on which they used to register, to the number 70000 or visit the IEBC portal verify.iebc.or.ke.
