Kenya, US Defense Chiefs Hold Bilateral Talks at the Pentagon

Kenya and the United States have agreed to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation in the wake of increased insecurity around the world.

This follows the US-Kenya Bilateral Defense Forum held at the Pentagon on Wednesday where officials from the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral defense cooperation between the US Defense Department, Kenya’s Ministry of Defense, and Kenya Defense Forces.

The meeting was attended by the US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Affairs Celeste Wallander, Kenya’s Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, and Chief of Defense Forces General Robert Kibochi, among other officials.

“The two sides discussed a range of topics including regional security; cybersecurity; security cooperation; U.S. Africa Command mission; Massachusetts National Guard accomplishments and future plans; and climate change,” the Defense Ministry said in a press release.

The ministry said US and Kenya defense officials intend to continue a strong partnership going forward, including the next iteration of the United States-Kenya Bilateral Defense Forum.

US military forces have worked closely with Kenyan forces for years. Kenya was a member of the African Union Mission in Somalia and now works there in the new African Union Transition Mission.

US personnel served as advisers to the mission in Somalia and helped with logistics and communications for the peacekeeping force.

Kenyan service members have participated in many US Africa Command exercises and served alongside American troops in United Nations operations.

  1. This is a very dangerous…
This is a very dangerous zone we’re trending on right now. To say, in “the wake of increased world insecurity”, this is euphemism for the gathering storm toward the THIRD WORLD WAR! For Kenya to go to Pentagon and begin to talk about defense cooperation with US- in the middle of this catastrophic Russo-Ukranian war may end up being a terrible miss calculation on our part. we’ve no articulable stake in this war. It’s too early to pledge the lives of our people to this US-European-supremacy game. History teaches that it is tragic for us to join in any white- on- white crime. We paid a huge price when we went to fight in the first world war, 1914-1918 and again in the second World War, 1939-1945 to help Caucasians kill one another. At least in those two occasions, we were subjects of European powers and were unwillingly dragged into those European tribal wars. I’m afraid this time around we will frontier our people and resources and join this white-on-white crime. It must be remembered that, like all major wars (apparently all started by the Caucasians), this war is not a mistake, a happenstance, or unexpected. These wars are always arranged, organized and prepared for- way ahead of time. Many years, even decades or more before the theater of war is opened and the blood of innocent people begin to flow in the city- streets and villages around the world. A form of human sacrifice that must be paid by humans every so often to appease the evil gods that we’ve sold our souls to in exchange for immoral material hoardings and unempathetic lives. Kenya should stay away from this war and any involvement of any kind should be considered only in concert with the African Union. This is not a game. It is war! Wamalwa should not be excited with his gullible team going for tea/coffee in Pentagon. Pentagon is where fatal-war decisions are made leading to the deaths of millions and millions of people around the world. This Russo-Ukranian war preparations began in 1949 with the formation of NATO to wade off a possible attack from USSR but when USSR collapsed in 1991, NATO was never dissolved, why not? NATO was not formed for world peace, not to end human suffering and hunger in the world, it was not formed to foster world economic growth. It was formed for war! And the war is here now.

    • I would argue that there was…
I would argue that there was some good that came out of Africans joining the war effort. Primarily, it removed the blinders and our grandfathers and great grandfathers realized there was nothing special about Europeans and they died when shot. This led to African political organization and resistance as well as the formation of the Kenya Land and Freedom Army.

  2. China is a threat in east…
China is a threat in east Africa. USA has undivided interest in the Indian ocean. Raila was once a USSR support so pentagon needed assurance from Kenya.

  3. China and Russia are in good…
China and Russia are in good terms. China is owned plenty of dollars by some East African countries. That is a very easy way of Russia getting the piece of cake. We are busy fighting one another, but not looking at the big picture. The next president cannot be figure head of either Russia or China. The potential in East Africa is worthy the third world war.
