Questions as Kenyan Woman and Her Iranian Husband Disappear Mysteriously at JKIA

The family of Samuel Njunu is in distress following the mysterious disappearance of their daughter and her Iranian husband.

Stella Waithira Njunu (30) and her spouse Mohamed Golabi (34) were last seen at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). The couple was traveling back to Iran on September 24th after visiting Waithira’s ailing dad.

They were dropped off at the airport by Waithira’s sister and a friend at around 1:00 am, with their flight scheduled to depart Nairobi at 4:00 am.

Njunu’s family said whenever Waithira and her husband visited Kenya, they would call to confirm they landed safely in Iran, but that did not happen this time round. The family has not heard anything from their daughter or her husband since they were dropped off at JKIA.

“At 10 pm, I called Stella and told her that since we would not meet again, they have a safe travel,” said Esther Njunu, Waithira’s mother.

It emerged that Waithira and Golabi did not board the flight and their phones were switched off, with the family accusing police of being reluctant to provide CCTV footage from JKIA, claiming that the system was being serviced.

“If there is any crime they might have committed, they have the right to be taken to court and be charged accordingly. But we believe that is not the case,” Waithira’s dad Samuel Njunu said.

“People being held incommunicado for a long time it gets so disturbing. My heart is broken.”

Waithira was dressed in blue jeans, white sneakers, and a black jacket with a scarf over her head while Golabi wore dark blue khaki pants and a denim jacket.

  1. Perhaps the family should…
Perhaps the family should consult the Iranian Embassy for assistance. If indeed it’s confirmed that they didn’t board their scheduled flight, then, the JKIA’s police are responsible.

Hire a good lawyer family. I pray you find answers.
