Reprieve for Travelers as Kenya is Removed from UK Red List

Travelers from Kenya will be granted entry into the UK starting next week after Britain revised its COVID-19 travel list.

Kenya was removed from the UK Red List and moved to Amber List alongside seven other countries among them Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Oman, and Bangladesh.

In a statement, the UK Foreign Travel Advice (FTA) said the eight countries will move to the amber list from September 22 at 4:00 am.

Travel rules for countries not on the red list will depend on a traveler’s vaccination status.

Those traveling to London from Kenya will be required to take a COVID-19 test upon arrival, complete the passenger locator form 48 hours before arrival, and proof they are fully vaccinated.

Partially vaccinated travelers must take a pre-departure COVID-19 test three days before arrival in the UK and book and pay for day two and day eight COVID-19 tests after arrival in the UK.

Kenya was added to the UK red list on April 9th after some visitors from Kenya tested positive for the South African COVID-19 variant.
