Nyeri Family in Distress as Businessman, His Two Cousins and Employee are Kidnapped

A family in Nyeri is seeking the government’s aid to rescue three of their kin and an employee who were abducted this week by unknown men.

34-year-old Isaac Mwangi, who was traveling with his wife and their 1-year-old daughter, was the first to be kidnapped. Their car was blocked by two vehicles before he was taken away by six men.

“One of the kidnappers asked me if I know how to drive and I told him I don’t, he got into our car and started driving us away. Then they took my husband into their Subaru Forester and told me ‘huyu tunaenda na yeye tuone kama tutaskizana,’” said Mwangi’s wife.

The gangsters left her and her daughter with their car by the roadside and drove off with her husband.

The wife made her way back to Narumoru but was met with news of the kidnapping of Wilson Wairimu, an employee at her husband’s pub in the town.

“When we came back, we did not go home straight, I went to my husband’s place of work to get the security guard to take me home. When I got there I was told he was taken by some unknown men at around 7:30 pm, that got me even more confused,” she said.

Two days later as they traveled with other family members after making inquiries about her husband in Ndaragwa, they were stopped by a car with gun-wielding men.

The armed men took away two brothers Bernard Wanjohi and Samuel Ngacha, who are cousins to her husband.

“A grey Probox blocked us, they lowered the window and corked a gun at us. I went completely blank…they opened the front door and took the driver first,” she said.

The family says it has no idea why their kin and Mwangi’s employee were kidnapped and have received no information from the police.

“If they’re being held by kidnappers, nobody has called us to ask for money. The police have not given us any information so we’re in total darkness, we just want our family members back,” Mwangi’s wife said.

On Tuesday, another Nyeri businessman Gerald Gwandaru was abducted by unknown men outside his hotel and bar in broad daylight.

Police say the incidents are under investigation.

Does Mukenya know how and when the US kaburu policemen traveled to Haven/Kenya to adapt the four?He seems to be okey when evil African Railas torture, kill or kidnap other Africans in Kenya.A US Kaburu thug or policeman is dangerous as the one found in Kenya. They are all blood thirsty vampires/Railas whose hobby is cannibalism.

This is getting way out of hand.
Kidnappings on daily basis and all we are being told is incidents are under investigation? With no positive outcomes?
DCI IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE WORLD, BUT CORRUPTION HAS KILLED IT.

Story is very fishy. How does the husband let his wife and child go without raising the alarm and then the woman goes to her place of work on her way home instead of going to the police .Kidnapped my foot probably a loan shark needs his money or you are looking to collect a donation and it is just a scam

Two kidnappings in a span of 5days.Very serious. At this rate,we may not have any business man of note,in Nyeri.Which would mean kidnappers will move to another area with rich”harvest”. We cannot not just depend on police to solve this menace. We as a community,or society has to consciously face this issue and come up with workable solutions. The longer we stay,”inactive” the more brazen these crooks will become. They live amongst us, they are our brothers, uncles, fathers, friends, and husbands. If you truly oppose their evil activities, turn them in,for you might just be avictim of another crime. You are not immune.

  6. The only way to stop this…
The only way to stop this kidnapping madness is for the local people to take charge of their environments. No one will protect you except yourselves.

Mob justices by stoning and slashing the thugs with pangas is the only way to stop the perpetrators. It will become news once the locals kill one or more of these thugs! And then kidnapping and killings will stop.

    • @Mwaniki, you’re right on…
@Mwaniki, you’re right on the money! If the government cannot protect its people then it becomes a matter of shelf defense for the people. A collective – harrambee effort for the people to protect and defend themselves. Burning a couple of those morons with some tires around the neck will do it once and for all.

  7. The horrible stories of…
The horrible stories of kidnapping fellow Kenyans and killing them must stop forthwith! It has become some sort of organized crime across the country. But no one seems to know how to stop it! Very weird and strange indeed to allow this kind of behavior to go on for so long.

I urge the Kenyan people to defend themselves in every possible way! You can’t let criminals put fear in your lives without taking action to root them out!

Shame on the security apparatus if the police have resulted into kidnapping ordinary Kenyans! This stuff is stoppable if people could organize themselves to defend there families and live ones. Someone need to stand up and do something.

  8. I havent heard Matiang’i…
I havent heard Matiang’i comment on this spike in kidnappings. He is busy worrying about his police men venting their frustrations on social media instead of finding ways to curb this menace.I guess people will just have to do it themselves…

    • Matiang’i, is as corrupt as…
Matiang’i, is as corrupt as anyone else in UHURUS government.

  9. Time is now! Kenyans, start…
Time is now! Kenyans, start protecting yourselves and your loved ones. In old days, we never had police. Kenya’s gates are languished. We have opened our gates to anyone in the name of investment, jobs that we dont have and fishy protection. We need traditional protection.
Everything will be under so called ” investigation” as our people are kidnapped, maimed, resources stolen.
What does this remind you of?
    Slavery, colonialism, guns?
Are we there yet? Are we under a new master yet?
Kenyans do not wait for protection.
    Start organizing to protect yourselves.
The darkest hour of the night is just before dawn!! It will get worse before it gets better.

A truck was stopped while transporting frozen human heads to TZ. Kidnapping is for a more sinister motive that police is yet to unravel. They just see crime.
