President Kenyatta on Thursday arrived in France for a two-day official visit.
Kenyatta was received by his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron at Elysee Palace in Paris where they discussed several bilateral and multilateral subjects of mutual interest to Kenya and France.
The two discussed the progress of key France-supported infrastructure projects in Kenya including the expansion of the 233-kilometer Rironi-Nakuru-Mau Summit Road whose construction is set to commence in September.
The expansion of the Northern Corridor road into a four-lane dual carriageway will be done through a public-private partnership (PPP) agreement at a cost of Sh160 billion. The agreement was reached during President Kenyatta’s last visit to Paris in October 2020.
The mega project will be undertaken by Rift Valley Connect Consortium, which comprises French firms Vinci Highways SAS, Meridian Infrastructure Africa Fund, and Vinci Concessions SAS.
Further, Kenyatta and his host discussed enhanced cooperation in the health sector particularly in building Kenya’s capacity to manufacture vaccines locally.
On the multilateral front, the two presidents spoke about the upcoming Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Summit in London to be co-hosted by President Kenyatta and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The Summit is slated for July 28th and 29th and aims at raising $5 billion in five years for investment in the education of 175 million children in low-income countries across the world.
Kenyatta was accompanied to Elysee Palace by Foreign Affairs CS Raychelle Omamo, his Infrastructure counterpart James Macharia and Kenyan Ambassador to France Prof. Judi Wakhungu.
I sniff some more borrowing…
I sniff some more borrowing which is okay by me. Build and build infrastructure, they will thank you later.
Some want Arap Ma-wheelborrow/ Arap Mashamba to take over. Well if he does, he should find nothing, NOTHING left in the treasury to steal along with his clonies.

MuGikuyu/(jambazi Uhuru) witu’s self confession of looting shs2b daily or shs730b per year is enough evidence to “SNIFF” and conclude destitution to many Kenyans. His borrow to loot mission means more debts for nothing.
Going to do what he does…
Going to do what he does best…borrow money in the guise of infrastructure developments, knowing too well that most of it will end in his and GOONS pockets.

This was only the beginning. In my opinion, France wants to outflank China and unlike the US it’s taking concrete steps by putting up actual money. I honestly don’t care who builds infrastructure as long as it gets built. We have to overcome 24 years of total neglect and decay. Besides with better roads, the land prices and overcrowding around Nairobi may ease up as people choose to live further out. Going to Western Kenya should not be an all day project. This is a financial penalty people pay in time and money and lives.
France survive bacause of…
France survive bacause of the economy of west Africa, so why Pres Uhuru going to borrow in France instead of going straight to our sis/bro countries in west africa coz he lives by borrowing. Kenya needs to stop this borrowing deals as the money will be siphoned to few individuals at the long run.
