Two of the Four Friends Who Disappeared Mysteriously Found Dead

Elijah Obuong and Benjamin Imbai, two of the four male friends who have been missing since April 19th, have been found dead.

The lifeless body of Obuong was reportedly discovered by sand harvesters on the banks of River Mukunga in Murang’a County on April 20th and was taken to a local morgue, where it was positively identified by his younger brother Michael Amollo on Thursday.

On the other hand, the body of Imbai, 30, was found at General Kago Funeral Home in Thika, with police indicating that it was taken there on April 20th.

Obuong and Imbai were reported missing alongside their friends Brian Oduor (36), and Jack Ochieng (37).

The four were last seen at around 3.00 pm on April 19th at Club Enkare in Kitengela, where they took nyama choma and some drinks.

They are said to have arrived at the joint in the afternoon aboard a white Toyota Mark X registration KCQ 715C.

After taking the meal and drinks, they were seen heading towards the club’s parking lot, where they had left their vehicle. This was the last time the four were seen.

Their movements were not captured as Club Enkare had not installed CCTV cameras at the time.

Their families reported their disappearance to police after days of being unreachable on phone.

When police officers handling the matter visited Enkare Club, they found the men’s car still at the parking bay. The vehicle was towed to the Kitengela Police Station.

Nation reported that the four were friends for a long and spend heavily on drinks and women as part of their lifestyle.

The publication noted that Obuong lived largely from the money wired to him by relatives living abroad and was a party animal.

Oduor’s wife Catherine Atieno said her husband left their Embakasi home at around 8.00 am to pick up his friends for a business meeting.

“We spoke around 1 pm and he promised to be back on time for my hospital appointment. By 3 pm his phone was off. His friends were also out of reach. I knew something was wrong,” Atieno recalled.

She said Oduor dealt in the car hire and spare parts business and had no known enemies.
