Police Probing Mysterious Disappearance of 4 Friends Last Seen in a Kitengala Nightclub

Police in Kitengela are looking into the mysterious disappearance of four young men, who were last seen at Club Enkare on April 19th.

The four are said to have arrived at the entertainment joint in the afternoon aboard a white Toyota Mark X registration KCQ 715C.

They ordered some drinks and at around 3.00 pm they were seen heading towards the club’s parking lot, where they had left their vehicle. This was the last time the four were seen.

Their movements were not captured as Club Enkare had not installed CCTV cameras at the time.

“What is clear, however, is that they never left the nightspot in their car,” a source told The Standard.

Their respective families reported their disappearance to police after days of being unreachable on phone.

When police officers handling the matter visited Enkare Club, they found the men’s car still at the parking bay. The vehicle was towed to the Kitengela Police Station, where it will be subjected to forensic analysis.

A detective who sought anonymity said officers are investigating possible abduction.

“For now, our focus is to find them alive and well. We really want to know what happened to them, and where they are,” said the officer, who is not authorized to speak to the media.

Detectives have not managed to track the missing persons’ phone signals, making it hard to trace their whereabouts.

Isinya Sub-County Police Commander Anderson Njagi said the matter is now being handled by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

“We don’t have so much to reveal about the men yet. However, preliminary investigations indicate the four were in transit from Nairobi when they decided to stop over for refreshments at Enkare Club,” Njagi said.

There were reports that the four had been hospitalized at Kenyatta National Hospital for unknown reasons but photos of the said patients did not match those provided by the families of the missing persons.

The search for the four missing friends has been extended to Machakos and Nairobi counties.

  1. I thought night clubs were…
I thought night clubs were closed and there is curfew from 8.00 pm because of COVID-19. Most likely they are in a police cell somewhere. Only police can be able to haul 4 strong men together.
