Waiguru Over the Moon as Son Helps Brookhouse School Win Continental Competition

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru is a proud mother as her son was among a group of Nairobi’s Brookhouse School students that bagged a continental award recently.

Brookhouse School was declared the winner of the University of Dundee’s African Schools Mooting Competition 2021.

This year’s competition brought together learners from Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe, and saw 13 teams make a case against an opposing counsel before two judges.

The teams were required to make submissions in a fictional civil law appeal before the UK Supreme Court.

Ghana’s Tema International School (TIS) and Chisipite Senior School of Zimbabwe finished in second and third places respectively.

“This is the fifth Mock Trial Competition Dundee Law School has run in Africa. Whilst the global pandemic meant that we were not able to conduct the competition face to face, the move online opened the door to making it a pan-African event. It was wonderful to bring schools and young people together from across the continent,” said Professor Peter McEleavy, Barrister, Professor of Law and Academic Lead for Sub-Saharan Africa at the University of Dundee.

“The standard this year was the highest we have encountered. The senior high school pupils got to grips with complex legal concepts and produced compelling submissions. I have no doubt that many will go on to be legal stars of the future.”

Governor Waiguru took to Twitter on Saturday to congratulate her son Ron Waiguru for being part of the eight-member Brookhouse School winning team.

“So proud of my son Ron & his @BrookhouseInt teammates for the outstanding performance at African Schs Mooting Competition 2021 & winning 1st position in Africa. “@fredngatia_@ahmednasirlaw@DonaldBKipkorir watch out. the future is here!#ProudMum,” she tweeted.

Members of the winning team received a £100 (Sh15,000) voucher each and a scholarship of £5,000 (Sh750,000) per year if they apply and be accepted to Dundee’s LLB programs.

So the corrupt lady is celebrating her son huh? Good for the son. She ought to be ashamed of herself!

Time is ripe for Kenya and Africa to go back to our traditional judicial system.
The current judicial system has failed to root out corruption. We are all waiting for God’s law to start working on earth. Man’s law has always changed in self interest.
Luckily the real change is on the horizon and no one has the power to stop it, not even the propagandists!!

Win what? My brother went to those and he is so fucked up! Most of these “private” school kids amount to nothing. I’m glad we didn’t have money for me to go to those. Gichagi High school and then national university did me so good. I can afford to take my little one to private school in MD USA but I shall not, need to go public and learn some lessons

I would be curious to know how many have graduated from these high cost schools and taken Kenya or Africa to the next level.
What is this that they teach that costs so much? Are they lucky to eat gītheri/murram/kagoto or they are missing out?

@Mūgīkūyū, those who graduated from those schools; Uhuru, Gidi, Murathe, Mudavadi, Jimmie Kibaki

Kids who can tweng and tell you what etiquette is…with over-the-roof confidence…… but when it comes to life skills, OMG, nada. …with roots so weak that the slightest upset throws them to ‘fucked up’ to borrow from language. Resilience is a word they can lecture you on, but very few of them have it when life happens to them. When the silver spoon falls… Having never lived on ‘half-tank’ or ’empty’ like most of their ‘poor’ peers, depression sets in…lack of direction…have to live with mum and dad even when married…

This is the hypocracy if these Uhuru era thieves. They look down on foolish Kenyans who voted them blindly, and exclaim, “Ng’ombe makondoo nyinyi, mtanichagua tu tena, mpende msipende!” These cannot be brave enough to blatantly show off if somebody BIG aint covering them up. When our watchdog of public coffers Uhuru claim that 2B a day is stolen, ut scares the hell iut of me. Then I wonder who are these elusive thieves? Yet small thieves are hurriedly bundled in courts, their cases executed and jailed by Maragas corrupt judges. Only God will save Kenya.

  7. GERMANY BIDS FAREWELL TO …
GERMANY BIDS FAREWELL TO ANGELA MERKEL_

With six minutes of warm applause, on the streets, balconies, windows, the whole Country applauded for 6 minutes – spectacular example of leadership and defense of humanity, chapeaux !

The Germans elected her to lead them, and she led 80 million Germans for 18 years with competence, skill, dedication and sincerity. She did not utter nonsense. She did not appear in the alleys of Berlin to be photographed. She was dubbed “The Lady of the World” and who was described as the equivalent of six million men.

During these eighteen years of her leadership of the authority in her Country, no transgressions were recorded against her. She did not assign any of her relatives to a government post. She did not claim that she was the maker of glories. She did not get millions in payment, nor did anyone cheer her performance, she did not receive charters and pledges, she did not fight those who preceded her.

Yesterday, Merkel left the party leadership position and handed it over to those after her, and Germany and it’s German people are in the best condition ever.

The reaction of the Germans was unprecedented in the history of the Country. The entire population went out to their balconies of their houses and clapped for her spontaneously for 6 continuous minutes. A standing ovation nationwide.

Germany stood as one body bidding farewell to their leader, a chemical physicist who was not tempted by the fashion or the lights and did not buy real estate, cars, yachts and private planes, knowing that she is from former East Germany.

She left her post after leaving Germany at the top. She left and her relatives did not claim advantage. Eighteen years and she never changed her wardrobe. God be upon this silent leader.

At a press conference, a female Journalist asked Merkel : We notice that you’re wearing the same suit, don’t you have any other? She replied: “I am a government employee and not a model”

At another press conference, they asked her : Do you have housemaids who clean your house, prepare your meals and so on? Her answer was: “No, I do not have servants and I do not need them. My husband and I do this work at home every day.

Then another journalist asked : Who is washing the clothes, you or your husband? Her answer: “I arrange the clothes, and my husband is the one who operates the washing machine, and it is usually at night, because electricity is available and there is no pressure on it, and the most important thing is to take into the account the possible inconvenience for the neighbours, thankfully the wall separating our apartment from the neighbours is thick. She said to them, “I expected you to ask me about the successes and failures in our work in the government??”

Mrs. Merkel lives in a normal apartment like any other citizen. She lived in this apartment before being elected Chancellor of Germany. She did not leave it and does not own a villa, servants, swimming pools or gardens.

Merkel, the now former Chancellor of Germany, the largest economy in Europe !!

  8. Wewe kaka Imara, please…
Wewe kaka Imara, please refrain from taking me back to the lecture rooms! Your posts sometimes have me in a stance. Merkel was the real “iron lady”, but her approach was understated. Humble woman. Unfortunately the world today demand news is vulgar, scandal na kathalika. It breaks my heart to think these politicians spend this kind of money whilst Kenya have families living in horrible conditions and poverty.
