Lugari MP Ayub Savula says the motion to impeach Deputy President William Ruto is still on course.
Savula, who spoke on Thursday, indicated that 126 MPs allied to Jubilee have so far appended their signatures on the ouster motion.
He pointed out that he is now seeking an additional 107 signatures from MPs drawn from various opposition parties to meet the statutory threshold of 233 members.
“I have heard our critics saying we cannot manage to impeach Ruto just because my party, ANC, does not have enough members. That is laughable because they do not understand the number of MPs from across the political divide who are supporting this motion,” Savula said.
He expressed confidence that he will raise the required numbers to send Ruto home for what he termed as disrespecting President Kenyatta.
“Kenyans voted for both Uhuru and Ruto expecting them to deliver on the promises they made during campaigns. But while the President is busy working hard to implement what they promised, his deputy is frustrating and openly opposing him. Is this the way a government operates?” he posed.
Savula challenged Ruto to resign at his own will to focus on the campaigns for his 2022 presidential bid.
“Uhuru is busy working on his legacy while his DP is frustrating him and backpedaling any gains that the President is making. He is using threats and behaving like he is in the opposition. The most honorable thing that he can do is to resign from the government and take on the President while in the Opposition,” he added.
That is a wonderful idea…
That is a wonderful idea. After the man worked his back side to get uhuru elected- those who did not vote are ready to remove him. Uhuru is behind the garbage but the sac is empty and cannot openly do it. This is why BBI is a scam. The president will only need pinheads to organize removal of DP/PM/DPMS and will “rule like a king”. So will they elect another DP or will the mighty muthamaki- simba be the alfa and omega? Disrespecting uhuru is ground for removal from office and replace with those who called him son of something with quad legs? People do not respect God anymore if uhuru can say on national media that it’s ok his deputy was stoned because raila has his “men who can throw stones”- meaning he knew about it- organized it against his DP! Kuna kesho uhuru- of this earth will be sorted out on this earth is a kikuyu saying- God bless you!
Don’t bitter little boy…
Don’t bitter little boy because your man has been campaigning from day one and nothing significant show in terms of getting people’s work done. It is time for Ruto to go – impeach him and then lock him up!
Well said.
Well said.
There’s nothing legal that…
There’s nothing legal that warrants an impeachment on the part of the Vice President William Ruto.
What should be be brought forward is a discussion to impeach President Uhuru Kenyatta for the quid pro quo. He bribed the MCAs with a 2 million in exchange for passing his and Railas project of BBI.
