Former Kenyan MP Anthony Mutahi Charged with Stealing Title Deed of Parcel of Land Worth Sh18.5 Million

Former Laikipia East MP Anthony Mutahi Kimaru was on Thursday arraigned in court for allegedly stealing a title deed.

Appearing before chief magistrate Martha Mutuku of Milimani law courts, Mutahi was charged with stealing a title deed of a parcel of land worth Sh18.5 million.

The court heard that the accused committed the said offense back in August 2016 at the Ministry of Lands offices in Nairobi.

Court documents indicate that he stole the title deed of parcel LR. 10422/13 in Nanyuki township belonging George Odinga and David Mortons Silverstein – the executors of the late Livia Lepoer Trench.

Mutahi faced a second count of making an agreement for the sale of the same piece of land while claiming to be the genuine owner.

The former MP pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh300,000 or a bond of Sh1 million.

The case will be mentioned on January 28th, 2020.

Each time a”guity” party pleads not guity, when found guilty, the law should slap 3 years on top of the given punishment to deter unnecessary court delays….Many atimes the guilty just sit still, and say ,”yes prove that Iam wrong”,even when over willming evidence points to guilty judgement.

Are Kenyans not tired of high profile thieves yet? They sure would do something dramatic to stop thieves had they been tired of this nonsense!
