Police in Nairobi are holding two Lithuanian nationals in connection with drug trafficking.
The foreigners were nabbed by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations’ (DCI) Anti-Narcotics Unit at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday night.
Their arrest came after two kilograms of heroin were found in their bags during a routine search at the Nairobi airport. The drugs had been concealed at the false bottoms of their suitcases.
Police said the two, 20-year-old Stendelis Rokas, and 30-year-old Brencius Karolis, were headed to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
They were placed in lawful custody as drug trafficking suspects as investigations continue.
