Former Naivasha MP John Mututho Attacked by Gunmen

Former Naivasha MP John Mututho escaped unhurt after he was ambushed by gunmen on Saturday night.

Mututho through Facebook on Sunday said he was driving from Bomet County when he was accosted by two gun-wielding men moving on a motorcycle at Jua Lako area in Nakuru town.

“I was engaged in a shooting incident with two individuals on a red motorcycle who both wore helmets,” said Mututho.

He indicated that the motorbike pulled alongside the car on the driver’s side and opened fire on him.

Mututho, a licensed firearm holder, managed to repulse them before proceeding to Central police station to file a report on the incident.

“I engaged them successfully before driving to Central Police Station Nakuru where I recorded a statement vide OB.67/12/09/20,” he added.

The former Chairman of the National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada) Board was alone in the car driving towards Nakuru’s Racecourse Estate when the shooting incident happened at around 7:30 pm.

  1. John Mututho has become…
John Mututho has become Kenya’s new Chuck Norris or Rambo. Alone but brave enough to take heavily armed motorbike assigns in the middle of night, so he says. The problem with his story is that nobody else witnessed the incident or heard shots in a never deserted town of Nakuru. The question many people would want to ask is who would be after Mututho and why fabricate such story? There are many reasons he would want to do that. First, Mututho realizes that has lost relevancy since he was removed from NACADA and he is now a relic of the past. Secondary, the 2022 election is at the corner and he want to gauge the reaction of people so that he can weigh his next move. Mututho is a attention seeker and this is the only beginning of the many dramas we can expect emitting from his corner in the coming months

    • You have to do whatever you…
You have to do whatever you need to do to survive! I dealt with over 10 thugs right there in Naivasha and I was very fortunate to fight them while they senselessly attacked my SUV!

I just had to make sure never to stop the vehicle from moving and doing all kinds of drills to survive! And yes, I was alone but I was able to make it out safely and alive!

I congratulate Mututho for escaping them gangsters! It is a terrible thing to happen to any body! Hope it never happens to you!

  3. I understand and feel your…
I understand and feel your pains! bwana Mututho! You feel violated to the core when ambushed unexpectedly.

I have been caught in a similar ambush around comer Mbaya in Naivasha area across from the Nairobi/Nakuru highway (not too far from the Petrol Station) as I was heading to North Kinangop at 11:00 PM.

I had to make a dangerous U turn in reverse and I was very lucky to drive back to Naivasha police station! No much help was offered though!

The following day I was informed that the Naivasha prison’s guards are the ones who regularly attack motorists at night in that location!

Well, that is your area of responsibility Mheshimiwa – or should I say the current MP Jane Kihara should put lighting in that very dark ally! The area is a death trap right before you arrive at the area with a culvert where crooks traps motorists with a huge telephone pole laid across the road next to that culvert adjacent to big rock formation on the left hand side as you are heading to ‘Kilimani Kia Ben”!

So welcome to the club mheshimiwa because the ordinary Kenyans go through these ambushes every single day without anyone to help them!

At least Mr. Mututho you had a gun to dispel the rouge idiots! All I had was my great God, and my Toyota Prado SUV that I successfully used to fight the thugs! I had no time to panic!!

    • You are talking about John…
You are talking about John Kimemia Memorial road, the road that leads to Kirima from Nairobi-Nakuru highway. I have heard similar stories but I haven’t encountered any myself. I am a frequent traveler and I use the road sometimes at night to travel to my home in Murungaru Kinangop. Naivasha Prison guards are well known for using or leasing their government supplied weapons to rob people. My policy towards that area is simple and clear, anyone attempting to stop me or obstructing my way will be met by live bullets. I avoid travelling alone at night that way my attention is focused at discharging my weapons if need be

      • @guest11 – that exact sport…
@guest11 – that exact sport is deadly! Just right there as you try to negotiate the dark corner toward the left!

I was headed for Engineer town to visit some friends! I ended driving back to Nairobi once I escaped the thugs!

Those Naivasha prison guards are crooks. I also think the Naivasha police is also in on the crime there based on the reaction I got when I got at the station! It seemed like the officers on night duty were expecting me. The whole of that area has no safety lights even going toward the police station.

. We can teach them a Rimbo action one night if you can hold your end of the deal! The area need to be cleaned up of thugs through firing squad!

I’m surprised that the local politicians have not installed sitima lights to curb crime in that location! Who owns the petrol station by the highway? The thugs trailed me from that petrol station. I think that is where they operate from. We have to weed out the thieves by eliminating them by all means!

We should connect and go down there to clean up the mess because the local police is not willing to do anything! We can meet at Belle INN in Naivasha and set up a trap at that location! I will be armed to the teeth for the mission!

      • That is the road @guest11…
That is the road @guest11. It is infested by thugs who work at the GK Naivasha prisons or their accomplices!

They park the green colored car at the dead end road before you start veering to the left, and walk through the bushy area to the target area by the Culvert! They have a huge telephone pole that they put across the narrow Culvert there to trap motorist at night!

We can clean the area up if the government is not willing or able to clean up the thugs! It is not hard to do it! We just have to plan a trap wisely and then execute! It will be more like a combat exercise on in Somalia or Iraq!

        • Unfortunately Kenya is a…
Unfortunately Kenya is a lawless country where life of its citizen don’t mean anything. Murderers gets away with murders everyday because they are able to buy their way out through the justice system. Some people who are supposed to enforce law and protect life are the biggest accomplice in murders. Naivasha GK prison guards have a long history of using their government supplied weapons to terrorize Naivasha residents. They work in cohort with some corrupt police officers at Naivasha Police Station. Victims of armed robbery in Naivasha have no recourse. The area MP Jane Kihara is not allied with deep state and therefore she has very little voice in the administration of her constituency. Your idea of taking citizen role in rooting out this criminal gangs deserves consideration because as things stand now the government is unable or unwilling to address the issue. However, it must be done within the framework of law. As I stated before I travel through that route heavily armed and ready to take head on and neutralize any threat that may emerge. I would be willing to meet you to discuss options available to tackle this menace but right now I am in Europe on a business trip and I won’t be back in Kenya until January, 2021. We can meet at Belle Inn, Rocky Resort, Lake Naivasha Resort, or even near the location at Heritage Resort. I am frequent in those joints

          • @guest11 – the invasion of…
@guest11 – the invasion of privacy as a citizen of Kenya in Naivasha has gotten me thinking. I tend to think ordinary citizens live in perpetual fears over corruption, insecurity, theft and so many other menaces that are ailing Kenya and the entire economy!

We don’t have to be known politicians to get positive things done in support of common wananchi! Uhuru once said that Kenyans are about to take arms to fight corruption! I think the country is ready to stand up and fight for what is right!

We can organize a huge demonstration in Naivasha aimed at cleaning the city of crimes and criminal gangs! We can cause so much chaos within the confines of the law to make MP Kihara resign for her failure to provide security to the local citizens!

We can also have huge demos at the Naivasha prisons and at the Naivasha police station to demand the arrest of the cops and prison guards that are using government vehicles while attacking civilians in different parts of Naivasha! It is legally fine to demonstrate in order to bring change!

I also got huge issues in Nyandarua county that need to be addressed. A county with five elected MPs 25 MCA, a senator and a governor have gone down hill to hell. Did you see an article on Gathanji ward where a sick man died on the way to the hospital as he was transported on a wheelbarrow!?

The Gathanji area MCAs – Ngumo Ngamau and kimondo must resign forthwith! It goes to show how corruption has been embedded in our political system where democracy if failing its “ for the people” philosophy!

You don’t have to travel too far from Murungaru, Engineer, Ndunyu Njeru, Wanjohi, Njabini, etc in Kinangop to see the glaring poverty of our people! The local politicians cares less about the plight of the local people, the life they live and how they go about their daily work/ business! Why do we need highly paid politicians to tell what we already know and are doing ourselves to improve the lives of our people!

The politicians are making a mockery of the people who elected them. It is about time we put this nonsense under control! It is the time we fire these folks like we did the firmer Governor Waititu!

Recently! Senator Murkomen said he is corruption cleaner than DP Ruto! Then Ruto goes on to talk about covid19 stolen money to create a smoke screen for his stolen billions!

Ruto is also taking about ethnicity mingled with hustler politics which is geared to make people think they are locked in a box and they have no hope of making it!

Then you got an inept CJ who is now asking Uhuru to dissolve the government so that the political campaigns can start in earnest to continue oppression of the poor people who have not benefited at all for many years!

I want us to meet when you return to chart a way forward for our people. We don’t need the politicians because most of them are the impediment to development and growth of our people! They are corrupt, they are thieves, and most of them are very myopic toward the hands development programs that we need! As a matter of fact, they should all resign!

          • The term Kleptocracy…
The term Kleptocracy literally means rule by thieves. Kenya is ruled by thieves. Political corruption or Malpolitics is the order of the day. Government officials and their network contact use public funds for illegitimate private gain. I can give Naivasha sub-county government offices, Naivasha GK prison and Naivasha Police Station as good examples of what it means to have no government in a country. Literally all the employees in those three institutions are involved in corruption, bribery, extortion, cronyism, nepotism, parochialism, patronage, influence peddling, graft, and embezzlement. Naivasha town is littered with uncollected rotten garbage yet on daily basis tax collectors are on streets collecting various taxes including parking lot taxes even though there are no parking lots in the town. Those that runs Naivasha town are on the bottom of the ladder when it comes to the administration of the county government. The county government is under central government. There are County governors and cabinet ministers that are above them and who are responsible in their particular field but since they too are accomplice or are busy looting somewhere else they keep a blind eye. Kenyan prisons are filled up by petty thieves, people who steal chickens to survive. No single corrupt official has ever been convicted in the history of Kenya yet they have stolen over two trillion US dollars according to some estimate. It is really a pathetic situation. I don’t know whether the situation is the way it is because it is our destiny. Hundred years ago our people lived in forests or as pastoralists. The modern corrupt Kenya that emerged is all what Kenyan have known and is bound to continue. If you look at the lined 2022 political candidates headed by Ruto, Raila, Mudavadi, Kalonzo just to name a few there is no hope in site. The story of Naivasha is the same history of Turkana, Lamu, Mombasa, Kisumu and indeed every corner of Kenya. Because Kenyans allow themselves to be treated by their government that way it’s only when they want change change will happen

          • Well said @guest11!
            We know…

            Well said @guest11!

We know what the problems affecting our citizens are but no one has a heart to fix them! The politicians have sold our beautiful country to the dogs; actually the politicians are the dogs who have consistently devoured the entire spectrum of our economy while they blatantly disregard the ordinary people who toil to build the nation!

There are so many glaring opportunities in Kenya if the resources we have can be fairly utilized ( responsibly used). But it seems quite apparent that no one is willing to take advantage of the available resources (collected taxes) to bring about some tangible change; something we can all see and appreciate!

No one should have to steal (corruption) from the ordinary people, or generally from the coffers of our government without feeling some degree of conviction, shame and sympathy.

Nevertheless, mostly all politicians have partaken in devastating Kenya’s economy through all the negative things you have mentioned above! I find it strange that Kenya’s politicians can be so corrupt while those who elected them to office just helplessly watch!

I toured Eastern Europe – Kosovo, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, Austria, Albania, etc late 2019! My intent was to get a little glimpse of how those countries are doing after a dark history which led to the Bosnian war.

In 2018, I took sometime off to visit the central and South American regions in a quest to learn something. I toured several countries and I had fun. While in Venezuela, I saw some situations which closely reminded me of the situation in Kenya.

The people I met and talked to in these countries told me that class discrimination and corruption by government officials caused the civil war in most of east Europe! People had experienced enough hardship and poverty to a point they ended conducting a rebellion against their own governments to liberate themselves.

As I look at Kenya, a lot of things that are going on today have a lot similarities with what was happening in East Europe in the past 60 – 70 years ago! There are uprisings and social unrest in Venezuela as we speak!

The Kenyan People may get tired, literally, and take up to the streets and the rest will be something for the history books! Something have to give in to change the current corruption narrative perpetuated by the political class!

And as you wisely have said, people will stand up to fight for change when they will want that change! And no weapon of mass destruction used on the ordinary people will stop them from attaining change that we can all appreciate!

  4. Desperate tangatangaists are…
Desperate tangatangaists are capable of anything. Pole mututho.

  5. Gangsters face each other.It…
Gangsters face each other. It might also be a deal gone sour. There is nothing wrong with thugs attacking their comrade in crime. They might have gone to demand their share of bribery Mututho received to hide the truth on poisonous/cancer maize imported by Raila 12 years ago which has killed thousands of Kenyans.Mututho displayed a shs 200 bungalow instead of report on maize scandal which cost Kenya has 30b.

    • You can make all kinds of…
You can make all kinds of assumptions on how fellow Kenyans (motorists) get attacked by useless thieves and gangsters by the road side when they least expect it! You can also celebrate the criminals because you are one of them.

But keep in mind it can happen to you as well! I would not wish it to happen to my worst enemy! But I would wish for such a unpleasant eventful experience to happen to you so you can understand how it feels to be violated by thugs!

I will have all manner of weaponry next time I pass by Naivasha; and especially at night! I will be heavily loaded to include several rounds of Uzi and grenades! I will drive by there ready to nuke the criminal gangs! They don’t deserve to live!!

      • I was crippled gangsters…
I was crippled gangsters while Mututho looting the public fundsat KNH and later as MP.He was enjoying the services of free guards then.Maybe Karanja got his Gikuyu loot dividends or maybe he is just a fool like others who say I AM REPRESENTED BY BABA IN “EATING”.To me all public funds looters wheather from my tribe including the two presidents-Kibaki,Uhuru,Mututho,Wanjigi,Ruto,Raila,Kabogo,MPs etc and their sympathisers-kina Karanja & Co.MUST FACE THE FIRING SQUAD for Kenya to change. That means Mututho’s friends in crime should have killed him angalau apate Lisala za rambi rambi.

        • @menye – the cost of being a…
@menye – the cost of being a member of a gang can be costly and deadly! You have said that you are currently a crippled gangster; and possibly on a wheel chair to assist you to move around! That is painful enough but you can do better for yourself!

You have classified me as a sympathizer of those who have “eaten” from the society simply because I’m a kikuyu! Let me inform you that I have always eaten from the fruits of my hard honest work, and I have no intentions to kunyakua a single penny from my fellow Kenyans. Maybe I should educate you on how I attained my wealth but that is a long discussion for another day!

You would be surprised that the night I got attacked I was heading to a location to feed those who have been unfortunate because of the covid19 issues! I do sympathize with the less fortunate in out society because I know the gnawing poverty in Kenya can be cured through supportive economic projects that support the average Kenyans!

I abhor thieves and gangster because I think all Kenyans must live in peace as they go about their daily business – in day time and at night!

It is the same way I detest anyone who is corrupt and have embezzled from the poor average Kenyans! Be it Mututho or be it DO Ruto! But, as you bitterly point your finger toward these corrupt politicians, think of the role you have played by voting for them to represent you.

So your bad choice of a leader(s) have put Kenya in the disastrous quagmire of corruption and theft of our meager resources hence ending up positioning you in some dark allay places waiting to kill those Kenyans who play by the rules and work hard to earn a decent living! In a democracy – meaning – where a government of, for and by the people is constituted; your role as a citizen is to enhance the institutions formed so they can yield the best result for your progress and existence! The person you vote for to represent you is a total replica of your thought process and your actions!

So if Mututho or Jane Kihara bought your vote with a few beers and nyama choma down there at Belle Inn, you became part of the corruption network problems which we must root out of Kenya!

@menye – you sound very bitter about your current situation. I for one, I get your point! I understand your bitter pains! However, you still have the time to change your life. You can take my advise to the bank that you will never change your life by allowing bitterness to consume you!

You need to find a positive view of life and let the fear in you die so you can make some progress and become a constructive contributor in your community and Kenya at large. You seem to live in fear! Fear is the worst man’s enemy toward any kind of positive progress!

You cannot have any pride hiding at the dark ally of Naivasha roads to mag others of their hard earned sweat! What good does it do you to kill me there in Naivasha while you can’t even keep anything I currently own materially? Maybe a few coins you would collect out of my pockets as I bleed to death but that it!

Kenyans want to be safe at all times – day and night; period! Free your mind from the bitterness of being a crippled gangster and better days will follow! I’m engaging you to inform you that being a thug is extremely risky! And all Kenyans must enjoy the freedom of being safe and of living without fear of others! You can do a whole lot better for yourself! Be a better and responsible citizen of a very beautiful country called Kenya!

        • @ menye – what is your local…
@ menye – what is your local leaders such as MP Kihara doing to improve the living standards of the people of Naivasha to make sure you are gainfully employed to get you out of trapping motorists on Nairobi/Nakuru highway!?

Your MP is now positioned in Sugoi chasing after Ruto’s stolen money while Naivasha continue to be infested by criminal gangsters!

Are you guys planning on firing your useless leaders to create a level playing field so that crippled gangsters like you can get off the dirty business of killing innocent motorists who have nothing to do with your crime problems in Naivasha?

It has been said the police and prison wardens are in the motorist trapping business in Naivasha! What is your MP Kihara doing to resolve this issue? Mututho is now paying for his sins guu I r not making Naivasha safe when he was the most!

This is all the reasons politicians should not be given body guards because they quickly forget the life ordinary voters live. And what is Kihara going to do when gangster like you go knocking at her door after she is defeated by the next potential Mp in 2022? So, this problem of insecurity seems to be a continuous cycle because politicians are just stealing your money and not doing anything to change lives!

@menye – talk to you local politicians and ask them to do better before you start glorifying your crippled gangster status like it is a gifted talent from above for you to be killing innocent people!

Kenyans should get bade at your nonsense here and match to Naivasha to publicly mod justice kill of you gangster idiots! It is coming to this level if no one is willing to clean up that mess! You will not make us live in fear in our own country!

It must be bar owners who want to assassinate Mututho because of destroying their businesses with Mututho law
