Citizen TV Senior Reporter Stephen Letoo Tests Positive for Covid-19

Citizen TV senior reporter Stephen Letoo has been diagnosed with Covid-19.

Letoo, who has been at the forefront in covering Covid-19-related news, told The Star that he tested positive for the virus after taking a test at a Nairobi hospital on Thursday.

He noted that the results came as a surprise as he was not showing any Covid-19 symptoms by the time he took the voluntary test.

“I did not have any signs and even now I don’t have any signs. I am fine and I have my appetite like before. You might even think that I am pretending,” he told the publication on Friday.

“I can’t trace and explain how I got it but upon doing the tests at Nairobi Hospital, it turned out that I had contacted the virus.”

Letoo is currently under home-based care and has urged Kenyans to take precautionary measures to avoid catching the bug.

“I just ask Kenyans to be more careful. It is sad when you can’t trace where you got it from. I am doing well and I am under medication at home.”

“We are at the front line to get the story out there. We are too much exposed,” he said, adding that his wife is in the process of being tested.

Kenya has so far reported 12,062 cases of Covid-19, 4,764 recoveries, and 222 deaths.
