The government has listed 250,000 Kenyan families under its weekly stipend program meant to cushion the poor from the tough financial challenges occasioned by the Covid-19 crisis.
On Monday, May 11th, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i said each of the 250,000 households are receiving Sh1,000 per week to help them afford basic needs during the pandemic.
Matiang’i, who appeared before the Senate Ad-hoc Committee on Covid-19, said the government is sending the support to the families via mobile money service platforms such as M-Pesa and Airtel Money.
“The study that we carried out showed that these people with a budget of Sh4,000 a month, they can afford a basic livelihood, not absolute comfort but a basic livelihood,” said Matiang’i.
He further indicated that the beneficiaries hail from low-income informal settlement areas in major urban centers in the country including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Thika.
“From Nyalenda in Kisumu to Banglandesh in Mombasa, Kiandutu slums, Mathare, Kibera, Mukuru Kwa Njenga, Mukuru Kwa Reuben,” Matiang’i noted.
CS Matiang’i pointed out that the funds are drawn from recovered proceeds of crime as well as donations from well-wishers.
The beneficiaries were identified through a multi-agency team drawn from the State Department for Social Services, Health, and Interior Ministries.

Kenyans, Africans and black…
Kenyans, Africans and black man on the four corners of the earth, watch on Youtube Africans being evicted out of their homes in Kuwait. What next?
Wake up Africans. Our leaders are busy with Police brutality, allowing 239 Chinese to self- quarantine while putting our own brothers and sisters in forced quarantine and charging them an arm and a leg.
As this story unfolds, let us wait for the excuse that the African leaders will give this time on behalf of the Kuwait government. Their reaction will tell us whose pain they feel. Are our leaders going to defend their citizens or are they going to apologize on behalf of the Kuwait government.
Our colonizers advocated “divide and rule” policy during imperialism,colonialism,neo-colonialism, multi-corporation and now world disorder.
Now, God’s great divide and Masterplan is at hand!! Let’s keep watching as it unfolds. Covid-19 revelations should frighten the black man on the four corners of the earth into unity!!
It’s time for Revelation and Restoration!!
