Kenyans on social media have been rattled by reports that China has donated 18 tonnes of medical equipment to the country to aid in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
A China Southern Airlines cargo flight carrying the equipment reportedly landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Friday morning. The equipment comprising Covid-19 protective gear was donated to Kenya by Chinese companies.
Kenyans online have however ‘rejected’ the donation citing reports of racial discrimination against Africans living in China. Reports indicate that people of African descent have been evicted from their houses and are being denied access to supermarkets, subways and other public places over allegations of spreading Covid-19.
Others questioned the safety of the equipment given that similar donations were allegedly rejected in Canada and the US after they were found to be faulty.
Rosemary Kiraka said: “Free is expensive, we will buy the local ones and support our own”
Alison Favour wondered: “Why are they donating equipment to us, yet evicting our people in their country! They want to finish us! maybe.”
George Njoroge said: “I have heard the same donations were rejected by USA and Canada.”
Keyshia Tabz wrote: “Hypocrisy of the highest order how do you mistreat citizens of a country and give donations to their motherland…. whatever weapon they have fashioned against Kenya it will not prosper, we are covered by the blood of Jesus Christ and we declare it is well…They will be ashamed because God is on our side and He shall deliver us.”
Foolish KOT. They should be…
Foolish KOT. They should be grateful they get these items now before shit hits the roof! Until you kenyans can stand on your own, you are a slave to everyone else so shut up , wake your small fat fingers typing on twitter and be more productive, kelele nyingi kila saa. If y’all don’t like what you see, collectively do your part – digital kelele mingi millenials- part of Kenya’s problem. I can’t stand these KOT wannabes yet the country continues to deteriorate under their watch.
Where are these KOT when…
Where are these KOT when your own landlords are evicting your own people, or it is only acceptable when someone else does it, charity begins at home
God help Kenya reject…
God help Kenya reject foreign gadgets and equipment as our leaders have made Kenya a dumping ground of foreign trash.
The government allowed 239 Chinese into Kenya and since then we started the corona virus song.
In that name, yes anything suspected by foreign nations to have defects or to contain corona virus will be dumped into our country.
May our God remove planned and unplanned evil against Kenyans and Africans at the four corners of the earth. May God protect Kenyans against our enemies from within and without!!
If the equipment is faulty…
If the equipment is faulty it should be rejected. We cannot afford to loose nurses and doctors nor are Kenyan lives for sale .Let them keep their equipment they are pretending to help yet they have been unable to contain the virus in their own country burning old people alive under reporting the number of deaths and vehemently denying any new infections
These free stuff are the…
These free stuff are the reason our industries can not thrive. Why do we sometimes take garbage from other countries? Careful inspection should be done of this stuff. If Corona wave does not hit Kenya then China can take their luggage back. At this point they can also take with them SGR and our leaders too who have sold us off.
