Former nominated Senator Emma Mbura has threatened to commit suicide if President Kenyatta and the Jubilee administration continues to ignore the plight of Kenyans working in the Middle East.
In a 4 minute, 45 seconds audio recording dedicated to President Uhuru, Mbura laments that Kenyans working in Gulf nations continue to be mistreated and suffer in the hands of their employers but the government has remained silent about it.

While she acknowledges that Kenyans cannot be stopped from seeking jobs abroad due to the high level of unemployment in Kenya, she says that the government has a duty to protect them from mistreatment.
Mbura mentions a few cases where Kenyans who went to the Middle East in search of greener pastures were brought back dead while others came back with injuries. She also says she is aware of many Kenyan women who are currently detained in a room in Saudi Arabia and want the government to rescue them.
She has threatened to kill herself for the whole world to know she was fighting for the rights of Kenyans employed in the Middle East.

Generally, if one take a job in a foreign country, the labor rules in that country applies. It’s better to first deal with the administration of host country, and then Kenya as a result. And in that case, its NOT serikali saidia; Its GoK, help us get out of here. GoK cannot force the employer to pay you, they have very little to do with your terms of service, only host nation can do that. While the host nation can get you out by force (Its called deportation), GoK can only help you get out, one has to be willing to get out. Now back to Mhe Mbura, its not clear what she want GoK to do. Also, from my keyboard, there is nothing I can do to stop her from committing suicide.
