Neno Evangelism Pastor James Ng’ang’a has dismissed claims that he irregularly acquired the parcel of land on which his main church stands.
This came after the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) wrote to him last week informing him that the piece of land located in Nairobi CBD belongs to the agency, Sunday Nation reported. KRC claimed that Pastor Ng’ang’a irregularly acquired the property and asked the televangelist to surrender all documents related to parcel located.
“You are hereby requested to surrender all documents relating to the irregular allocation of the above-referenced property to the corporation,” reads the letter in part.
“Historical records in our possession indicate that the land bound by Haile Selassie Avenue, Uhuru Highway and Bunyala Road in which various railway infrastructure are contained was reserved for railway use.”
“It has, however, been established that new grants on portions of the land were issued by the Commissioner of Lands in around 1994 without the consent of the corporation.” added the letter.
Addressing congregants at his church on Sunday, Pastor Ng’ang’a explained that he obtained the property from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).
“The owner of this field had a bank that borrowed money from the Central Bank. The bank went under and Central Bank seized its property, which it sold to get money to pay back [the] depositors,” said Ng’ang’a.
Pastor Ng’ang’a further vowed to oppose any attempts by KRC to reclaim the land on which Neno Evangelism headquarters stands since 2003.
“You can go and change (the registration documents) if you are man enough. Go and backdate and say it belongs to the railway. I swear before God, hutabakisha hata mjukuu duniani hapa.”
“Will I keep issuing blessings? We also curse. It is inconceivable that people wake up to joke with a man of God. Which God are you playing with?” he posed.
I support Pastor James…
I support Pastor James Nganga. Where has this Kenya railway been since 2003? Is this the time they have realized they owned that land. Is there is a lot of witch hunt going on in Kenya. The ODM sympathizers government appointed to lead this parastatal are full of malicious intentions. All land within Kenyan boundary belonged to the Kenya government at some point and the government is the one that issues tittle deeds. There is what we call sanctity of tittle which should be respected. There is also a stature of limitation which in case of land is twelve years. Ignorance of law is a dangerous thing. Raila, Ruto and Ole Ntimama committed genocide in Rift Valley over the issue of land ownership. Poor Kenyans were thrown in crocodile infested rivers, burned in churches and nobody paid for that. The same people are now bound to be rewarded with the highest seat in the government. When will Kenyan learn? Kenyans ni wanjinga
