Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has reiterated his support for President Kenyatta, vowing to stick with him beyond 2022.
Musyoka, who spoke during a meeting with Kamba leaders at his home in Yatta, Machakos County, urged the residents to support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), noting that it will shape the future of Ukambani politics.
“I have made a resolution that I and the Kamba community are not flip-flopping and where Uhuru will be even after 2022, we will be there. We are now engaging everybody as free gear.”
“But our true direction is to support Uhuru. I have not spoken to Raila of late but I know his support for Uhuru till he finishes his term has not changed,” said Musyoka.
The meeting was attended by several elected and non-elected Kamba leaders but conspicuously missing were Governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni).
Kalonzo, who urged the leaders to unite if they intend to make progress in the Kenyan political arena, said Governor Mutua skipped the meeting due to fears about his security while Ngilu and Kibwana did not send their apologies. The three Governors have in the past threatened to oust Kalonzo as the Kamba political kingpin and lead the community in a different political direction.

This guy is a big loser! One would be naive to team up with him and expect to win an election. That’s why he is a watermelon politician. History has it that Kambas are not good leaders especially men. No wonder their tribe leaders back then were women!!! Food for thought.

@the seer! It does not cost a thing to change a heart! As a matter of fact, Kalonzo has not been deeply marred in corruption compared to many others who are currently loudly deceiving Kenyans from the roof tops of gas-guzzlers with honey dripping poisonous tongues?.
They spread so many lies and promises they never fulfill! They visit churches with sackful of stolen money to brain wash the faithfuls. They only read the Holy Bible selectively to confuse the gatherings.
We want him to join Uhuru so that all the Kamba people can join the struggle to liberate Kenya from the chains of corruption!
Unfortunately the tribal lens will have to apply to fight stealing in Kenya. Then we can force the thieves into exorcising the demons of corruption as they get ? cleansed by a mundumugo!!
My brother, my issue with…
My brother, my issue with pledging of loyalty is where it eventually leads. There is normally an ulterior motive which I believe Kalonzo has – loyalty pledge in exchange for presidential run endorsement. I lived in the nyayo pledge era. Grown men were tripping over each other to kiss Moi’s posterior, no one dared point out the emperor was incompetent & everything including the constitution was subject to Moi’s whims. Headmistresses were not safe. Eventually you could not question Moi publicly. Kenya lost 24 years and became a nation of crime, corruption and cartels as leadership was replaced by a desire to be viewed as the most loyal. Imagine if Kenya had grown at a sustained 5 to 6% for 50 years. By now we might have commuter trains maybe subways, low income housing, reliable utilities etc. Our best governors are where we should be looking our next president.

@mugo – Kalonzo and presidency favors? Wow Bro! That time is already in the rear view mirror! Maybe a CS job to keep some income afloat!
I fully concur with you that the rate of the economic growth in Kenya has suffered for a long time. The biggest menace that has eaten the foundation of Kenya economy is the individual greed and the high-speed rate of corruption. In Kenya, politicians behave as if they have a God given right to steal from the coffers.
Corruption among other evils has consistently eroded all the gains Kanya has made since independence. We need to declare a state of emergence in fighting corruption! Otherwise issues of this nature will continue to destroy our country.
