Kenyan singer CMB Prezzo, born Jackson Makini, has announced he will run for Kibra parliamentary seat in the coming by-election.
The rapper, who will contest for the MP seat on a Wiper ticket, was unveiled by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi on Tuesday afternoon.
Prezzo will now face Bernard Otieno Okoth Imran of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), footballer McDonald Mariga of Jubilee Party, businessman Eliud Owalo of Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ford Kenya’s Khamisi Butichi.
The Kibra MP seat fell vacant following the death of Ken Okoth who succumbed to colorectal cancer while receiving treatment in Nairobi Hospital on July 26th, 2019.
The Kibra by-election is scheduled for November 7th. Kibra constituency, which has five wards, has 118,276 registered voters and 180 polling stations.
