Three People Arrested for Conning Nairobi Couple Out of Sh2 Million While Posing as Witchdoctors

Detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested three suspects accused of defrauding a Nairobi couple out of Sh2 million.

DCI said the three; Titus Fedha, Haji Shariff and Suleiman Mzava posed as witchdoctors who were in a position to use ‘black magic’ to help the unnamed couple sell its property.

The three allegedly promised the couple from Nairobi’s Westlands area that they could remove witchcraft from the said property, detectives said.

They then visited the couple’s residence with a briefcase containing a snake and other paraphernalia linked to sorcery to ‘exorcise’ a prime property the two were seeking to sell.

The suspects allegedly convinced the couple to give them money for buying special oil to burn the snake but they disappeared after receiving Sh2 million.

DCI officers later recovered a suitcase containing witchcraft paraphernalia from a house belonging to one of the suspects-Shariff-in Kileleshwa, Nairobi. Police are still pursuing other suspects who collaborated with the three to con the gullible couple.

DCI said the suspects will be arraigned and charged with obtaining money by false pretenses.
