Dead MCA Listed Among 42 Ward Reps. Who Pocketed Sh8 Million from Fictional Foreign Trip

Investigations into the alleged non-existent foreign trip by 42 MCAs from Siaya County, where each pocketed Sh200,000 has taken a new twist.

The Ward Representatives are accused of pocketing the amount from Siaya County Assembly coffers for a foreign trip to Uganda that never happened.

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives probing the matter have reportedly established that an MCA who passed away in 2018 was among those in the alleged stage-managed trip to Jinja, Uganda, on February 2019, according to Daily Nation.

Joanes Andiego Odongo, who was the Central Sakwa MCA and Majority Whip at the Assembly, died on May 17th, 2018 after a long battle with liver and kidney complications.

The MCAs are alleged to have taken their passports for stamping at the Busia border in order to get the pay but never went to Uganda for the trip.

EACC will begin questioning each of the MCAs over the matter starting August 12th.

Public corruption is the norm. No accountability. No consequences for stealing public funds. The corruption continues unabated. Zero consequences. All public employees are corrupted. The justice system is completely unable to do anything because it is also infected with this disease called corruption.

How did we get here? A country that has no single leader who is honest that can become a light even a dimmed one to the others.
The foundations of our nation are shaky. Corruption and greed thriving. Leaders showing off, paying themselves undeserved salaries. Others talking about how to manipulate the system to hold on to power. Every sector suffering (lacking basic resources) but every politician in position bragging about how much they have stolen that they do not need to steal any more. Leaders like these MCA’s stealing public funds from left to right.
Foreign corrupt churches (turned to prosperity churches) displaying the moral bankruptcy of various religions- Christianity.
Education system that produces PHD’s that have no meaning. Education sector awarding unearned degrees. (Some even being awarded to our corrupt officials) Fake honorary and fake PHD’s. – A foreign country awarding one of our leaders and we dont ask why. Which master is our leader serving, local or the colonial master. No one can serve two masters.
Justice system that gives anticipatory bail. Justice system that is in the business of catch, bail and release.
Wananchi committing suicide out of desperation because they know that the resources that can help them are held hostage by a few (Mpig’sand MCA’s). Hospitals that cannot help them because they are ill equipped.
It’s a sad story for our country. Our leaders need to wake up. As the west makes their countries white again, we must prepare to receive our citizens in the Diaspora. Our leaders need to listen to other African leaders to know where the ” so called black man” in Africa and in the Diaspora is going so Kenya is not left behind.
