Uhuru: I’ve No Powers to Decide who will Succeed Me in 2022

President Kenyatta says he does not have powers to decide who will succeed him after the expiry of his term in 2022.

Kenyatta, who spoke in Ruiru, Kiambu County, during the opening of Sh20 billion Bidco Industrial Park, said only God and the Kenyan voters have the power to choose Kenya’s next president.

At the same time, he urged leaders to refrain from engaging in 2022 succession politics and focus on serving Kenyans.

“As leaders, we should strive to ensure that we have improved the welfare of the Kenyan people. We shouldn’t be engaging in politics all the times. Leadership is given to man by God. Elections will come and go,” Kenyatta, who was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto, said.

“The Kenyan government remains a constant feature in different generations. It is, therefore, unnecessary for us, as leaders, to incite the people every other time in the name of politics. Let us work. The one who God has planned that he or she will be elected to office will surely ascend to power. Me, I don’t mind who that person will be,” he added.

Kenyatta’s latest remarks contradict his November 2018 sentiments, where he said that his choice for 2022 presidential candidate will shock many.

“They think because Uhuru is going home in 2022, he will not have a word on what will happen. I am telling them when the right time comes, I will have something to say,” Kenyatta said while speaking in Nyeri.

“Some think I have kept quiet because I am not capable of talking politics. I am still a politician. They will be shocked when that time comes, but for now, I want to concentrate on delivering my pledges to Kenyans.”

Kenyans did not vote for you. They boycotted the elections.

    Illegitimate president.

We agree with you, Mr President. Man proposes, God disposes. It’s time to retire the Dynasties and have fresh blood. Kenya has been stuck with the same old reasoning. Doing the same thing and expecting different results is madness.
It’s time for God’s guidance in Kenya, and not man-made money.
Kenyan’s are young and energetic, they need new policies that will make them independent and not dependent on foreigners. New policies that will look from within and not from without for leadership.
    Let Kenyan’s decide their fate.

That’s what happens when one dances and sells one’s soul to the devil. Handshake ina vikwazo. Ugeugeu tele! Odinga in waiting, Ruto has been thrown under the bus!
