Ukur Yatani has officially assumed office as the new National Treasury Cabinet Secretary in an acting capacity.
On Thursday, Yatani and the new Principal Secretary, Dr. Julius Muia were introduced to the ministry officials at National Treasury building by Head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua.
Yatani and Muia were appointed to the positions by President Kenyatta to replace Henry Rotich and Kamau Thugge, who were this week charged with various corruption charges over the Sh19 billion Arror-Kimwarer dams scandal.
Yatani, who is also in charge of the Labor and Social Protection Ministry, said he will focus on helping the government achieve the Big Four Agenda.
“There is certainly pressure at the moment. While it is still early to say what we will embark on straight away as we set out to work, implementation of the Big Four agenda remains key among what we want to accomplish,” said Yatani.
Yatani’s 1st job should be…
Yatani’s 1st job should be to find out how much money Rotich, Thugge & Co have stolen in the past 6 years. I have a hunch that more than $1 Billion of taxpayers money might have been stolen by corrupt officials at the treasury, and the theft covered by their political godfathers. https://africa24newsreviews.wordpress.com/2019/07/26/ruto-must-be-arrested-and-charged-with-corruption/
