Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has trashed claims by Deputy President William Ruto that he helped him secure a job at the African Union (AU).
Speaking in Naivasha on Sunday, Ruto claimed he helped President Kenyatta to lobby for Odinga’s appointment as the AU envoy for Infrastructure.
“Negotiations of the AU position did not include prospecting for minerals or merchandise of any nature. All his job description involves is Africa’s basic infrastructure,” Ruto noted in reference to Odinga’s alleged role in exposing Kenyan fake gold scammers.
Through his spokesperson Dennis Onyango, Raila termed Ruto’s claims of lobbying for his appointment as cheap politics.
“We don’t know what Ruto is a party to and what he is not. If he had his way, he would be a party to everything and anything.”
“What we know and I believe all Kenyans know is that Ruto can never be a party to anything that uplifts Raila Odinga. If he was a party to those talks, he must have joined to stop it but failed,” he concluded.
Odinga was appointed AU High Representative for Infrastructure Development by Chairperson Moussa Faki in October last year.
You are cheating.Ruto…

The response was from Dennis…
The response was from Dennis Onyango, and not from Raila. It’s well understood that any one seeking a senior post at UN, AU, WHO, IMF requires support and nomination from the home country. Raila’s candidacy to the AU post required GoK support and nomination.
It does not matter how he…
It does not matter how he got the position. The question is: What is this position? What problem is it suppose to solve for Africans. As our leader of Africa’s infrastructure- Let him read or listen to ” Confessions of an Economic Hitman” or listen to it on YouTube. We will expect him to discuss his achievements come 2022.
What issues did Africa have with the infrastructure?
Where was Africa’s infrastructure when he was promoted to that position?; what has he accomplished in that position and where does he see Africa’s infrastructure in 5 to 10 years.
For 40 years in politics, he has not done anything tangible for his people. Let us see what he will have accomplished in 5 years for Africans.
